Risk assessment
I was reading somewhere that the odds of a satellite reentry to earth causing human injury is something like 1 in 3200. And that is deemed an acceptable risk.

I think the familly law professionals would do well if they applied some well founded risk assessment before slapping on a non molestation order without any proof whatsoever purely as a precaution. It is about balancing the risks and rewards.

All you ever see is the horror stories of dads doing harm to their children or horrible controlling monster stories. What are the statistics? Where is the risk assessment?

Some rational and measured attitude to risk in familly matters would be really good, me thinks.
