The idiosyncrasies of what should be normal
#1
It was my daughter's 5th birthday yesterday, another birthday I've missed.

0&5 isn't the kind of streak I ever wanted.

Friends and aquaintences always ask if I sent a card and present, because "that's something at least"

(I wonder if they realise that's the minimum required for celebrating someone's birthday or not?)

I don't think they understand that it's not as simple as just posting it all off. I photograph the card and present, I keep receipts and delivery info because I don't know whether my daughter gets given her presents from me or not.

It's one of the idiosyncrasies of dealing with a hostile ex.

Nothing is ever simple.

Sorry... Rant over.
