Being Falsely Accused of Child Abuse

Ask a Question
Being Falsely Accused of Child Abuse

If you are accused of child abuse, whether sexual or violent in nature, or abuse that is supposed to have occurred in front of your children, you may find yourself on the receiving end of a ‘visit’ from Social Services, which may seem casual and friendly but is actually recorded on a computer and remains on a social services file indefinitely.

When facing false accusations from a neighbour or ex partner, it helps to have a structured approach to protecting yourself using our free False Allegations Response Planner.

If Social Services decide not to do anything about it, there will be ‘no action taken’. It is well worth checking what is on the file in these circumstances to make sure that what has been recorded is accurate. You are unlikely to get an apology or thanks for your cooperation.

Further Action

If Social Services decide that they need to take further action, they can hold a ‘core assessment’ meeting where they can direct you to do certain things as a parent. Your child could be put on the ‘at risk’ register. If this happens, it could be that your authority over your child’s welfare may be shared with Social Services, or your child could be taken into care, or adopted into another family.

Your Child’s File

Whatever information is on file about your child, it can be seen by medical professionals, health visitors, teachers and school staff, housing authorities, police, public and some voluntary workers who have contact with children, and youth workers. That is why it is important to ensure that whatever is recorded is correct.

Your situation may be slightly different. ask a question below ↓ and our editorial team will reply with our advice.

The Meeting With Social Services

Although this is often sold to people as ‘a little chat’, you should NOT treat it as such. Make sure you bring someone with you who you know and trust as a witness, and make sure you tape record the meeting. Ask everyone there whether they have any objection to you recording the meeting – they should not. Use a ‘conference microphone’ so that you get a clear definition of what everyone says. If you know what the meeting is going to be about, bring any documentation that you think will help. No matter how nice they are to you, remember they are there to do a job – which is to see whether you are an unfit parent or not. They are not paid to be kind to you.

The Good News

As public bodies are terrified of being lambasted in the media, they can have a tendency to over-react to any kind of concern expressed over a child’s welfare. There does not have to be strong evidence in order to trigger a referral to Social Services. Sometimes it is simply an opinion, a suspicion, or an impression that a public employee has, although there are rules and concerns must be ‘evidence based.’

Although this might seem shocking, a considerable number of referrals to Social Services are not investigated at all because they are deemed to be without merit. Although figures vary between local authorities, those that are not investigated at all amount to around 55% of all referrals. If there is genuinely nothing wrong, and the referral has been made mistakenly, or maliciously, just make sure you take the precautions described above. Act professionally, tell the truth and make sure that you do not say anything even in jest that could be misinterpreted.

False accusations are not uncommon where one partner is looking for ways to 'punish' the other. It's not always accusations of child abuse either...often an ex will falsely accuse you of domestic violence or even rape. Our articles:
Being Falsely Accused of Domestic Abuse
and
Being Falsely Accused of Rape
offer some advice about what to do in those situations.

@C laurie Sounds like you've reached a bit of clarity, even if it came the hard way. Realising you weren't really in the right relationship is honest, and probably better than pretending for years. Just be careful the kids don't end up feeling like the burden you mentioned, because they'll pick up on it even if you don't say a word. Wishing you a fresh start that actually fits who you are.

Ha ha ha heartbroken lost and angry for myself it was freedom happiness and I truly found myself that’s the way I interpreted it anyway .I guess in my situation I never loved her and found children As a burden .that women never new who I was in the first place .

My ex left 2.5 years ago. Leaving our 3.5 year in my care. I had him for 5 days out if 7, then dropped that to 4 out of 7. This has been the status quo up and until last week.
She now lives with ex best friend of 30 plus years and ex business partner, in a high 6 bedroom house in the county. It's been a crappy divorce! As They also did me out of money from the xompa y we sold!
I went to
Collect my son from school only to be told he was off sick. I called her nothing! She has now accused me of sexual abuse and cut off all access to my son! I understand the need for child safeguarding but this in insane. I've been his primary carer for 2.5 years! No contact. How on earth can she get away with this!!! Heartbroken lost and angry!

I have been accused of "child abuse" by the local law enforcement community.
I have been a single father (full-time) for that last two years. No participation from the mother and her family, no money, no help.
My son was literally 2 weeks from turning 18 when the incident happened.
We got into an argument concerning his school work, he attacked me (pushed me over a recliner causing me to bust my head).
After attacking me, he went outside and called the police when I refused to let him back in till he calmed down.
Police came, I gave them zero info and was not co-operative (didn't want either me or my son to go to jail over a simple argument.)
Police arrest me, charged with child abuse.
Lost my job and haven't been able to communicate with my son since this happened, it's been nearly a year so far doing court dates and etc.
I chose to go to trial because I have not and did not abuse my son. My son turned 18 2 weeks after this incident, and now NOBODY knows where he is.
Court cannot locate him , they have tried to subpeona him twice and cannot locate him.
So, from my point of view, I am a hardworking single father , who was receiving no support and was doing well with my son.
We got into an argument because he wanted to quite school on his last half of his senior year.
He got angry, shoved me , I fell over the recliner and busted my head. I was the one ground when he was over me, I pushed hime off of me, he ran outside , I kicked the apartment door. He called the police and they did what they did.
Now, we have an 18 year old boy who nobody knows where he is at , that didn't complete those last classes.
How did the law enforcement or courts adhesive justice? Who have they helped? How did the community benefit from bringing these charges?
Truth 11/06/2022 at 12:34 am
After reading your post makes you think how people could accused you off terrible things .next month I'm off to Cape York its on my bucket list .I have a 18 year old daughter I dont have any contact but if I did I would off ask her if she wanted to come on this 2 week trip .it's a iconic trip would be gnarly sharing a beer bye camp fire on the Jardine River .probably smarter not to after reading your post .they could take something fun and turn it into a nightmare. That's why I'm a single men .

Like Rick I have just been made aware that my previous partner has made allegations about me of sexual abuse towards my son I only found out a week and a half ago coincidentally she made these allegations a little over a week after she found out I was in a new relationship as I had been single for the previous 8mths social worker has made her findings clear and believed my son is being coerced and pressured into saying things (has apparently made declarations to his mum only) if anyone has any guidance as I believe this is gonna be a long process or agency’s who can help me take back control of my life as she still even after a year of separation manages to make my life a misery, am totally lost that anyone can make up such disgusting lies.

My step daughter has recently accused me of been pervy, i have been in her life for 8 years now, see her as my own daughter. Her mam believes that i have not done such a thing, but we have had to call it a day through fear of what might be said. I'm not ready to give up on us after all its been 8 years of our life together for something like this to be said is pretty disturbing. Just wondering if anyone else has been through this and could give advice.

Hi this is my first time sharing my story. I have a 10year old son whom I have shared parenting order until he is 18. Everything is okay with my contact but I went to court twice once when my son was a baby and when he was 7. Both occasion I was faced wil malicious allegations that are baseless and it was intended to defame my character and malicious allegation to stop contact with my son. Me and my ex separated when my son was around d 3 months old. Both court cases I won amd got my joint residency order. Second time my ex stopped the order and breached the order so I had to do an enforcement order. Then it went I to fact finding case and a lot of money went ther to clear my name from absurd and malicious allegations that one will laugh. I am a teacher by trade and I work with children so I have a clean CRB and my ex is out there to hurt me by now getting my son to call the NSPCC and social servise and teachers and falsely making allegations that I am abuse g him emotionally. Social servise are loving this and made a child protection plan. This is all so bizarre and I told them my ex does is using my son to go against me and making up allegation to stop ot make my co tact difficult. She is doing g that as she is jealous that I got married and have 2 more children of my own and she cannot see us being happy with my son mixing with his step siblings amd my wife. Anyway now social servise said g my son disclosed that I shout at him and tell him off and use f words and that he is scared to come home to me when it is my weekend. Now I don't k ow what to to as I have him again this week for a week as we share term holidays. Social servise wrote me a letter that he is petrified to see me and my son does not wish to see me he will only text me from his mother's phone (my ex will tect pretend ding to be my son) but I have a court order in place. Can social aervise stop my contact without any new court application? Please advise. If I get my son I am scared that he will make up more allegations agaist me and my other children and I don't know what to do.

my wife left my daughter and me for another man, i took care my daughter aged 10, mother seeing her every second weekend, after a year she applied for divorce no problem, but she was told if she had her daughter she could get a lot bigger settlement, we fought via the court, cafcass on my side with 75% in my favour, that did not suit her she tried everything false statements to the powers and to courts nothing worked, a morning of the final hearing in court she produced a photo of a mark on my daughters upper arm, saying it was from grabbing and shaking her, i knew what the mark was it was a habit she had of comfort sucking, on the circular mark you could even faintly see the teeth marks, but the court had no alternative but to suspend the hearing yet again, 3 days later i was arrested for child abuse and bailed for 3 months, after that came to an end bailed again for 3 months, during this time i was forbidden any contact with my daughter, after the 6 months no action taken against me, BUT she had already been to court and they gave her full custody and closed the case file, without consulting with me in any way, that was more than 4 years ago, i have not seen my daughter all that time, mother and new boyfriend moved away address unknown, i am not sure as my daughter gave statements saying it happened if the mother was complicit or if it was just my daughters idea, why would she say those things against her father she know loved her so much?, she has torn my heart out, i will never recover

I’m being accused of rape, perversion and violence to an x girlfriend From 20 years ago when she was underage.we were a couple for 2 years while she was in college but she told the police she didn’t know how to leave me. She’s lying, I don’t know why She’s doing this and it’s killing me. I’m older than her and the police say that I shouldn’t have been with her but why, she was of legal age. We where a couple. She has reported me to the Irish police and all my family have been questioned about me when I was young. I now live in Canada with my wife and we are worried sick. I’m crying everyday. I can’t do the simplest things. My wife is in bits. I keep thinking the worst, been sent back to Ireland and been found guilty. I’m thinking of killing myself as I keep thinking I’ll be taken away from my wife and life in Canada and if I’m going to lose everything then I lose everything on my terms. I’m not coping well with this as you can see. I’m not guilty of anything but the police are taking what she has accused me of very serious.

I'm accused in schedule 2 report by cafcass that, I'm a porn addict, I pinch my children, I use inappropriate language and walk around naked.

Section 7 has been ordered without facts finding.

What is the likelyhood of an outcome since I applied for shared care as a result of covid19 but these lies came up after the application?

I'm a litigant in person. Any legal expert here please?

My girlfriend thinks that I’m hurting her 2 year old daughter because of something she said that her mom misunderstood and cops were called and cps became involved when the officer asked me what had happen I told him the truth and that what my gf had heard was either misinterpreted for her daughter was trying to say something and what she had said was wrong the officer took my statement said that you’re really calm for being accused of doing something like that and I said well I’m calm because I know that I didn’t do that and the Lord knows that I didn’t do that so I have no reason to be worried because of worried shows guilt so I’m not worried about it because I know I didn’t do anything. But now every time that my girlfriends daughter is alone with me for just a second her mother flipped out and starts throwing accusations out that I am hurting her daughter or I am beating her daughter I am hitting her daughter I mean just like this morning Her daughter got up came and woke me up asked me to make her breakfast I went and tried to wake up my girlfriend she told me to go make her breakfast does not to F with her so I took my phone up and I started recording for whenever I left the room but my girlfriend swears up and down because Her daughter has a scratch on her back she thinks that I harmed her daughter while she was asleep even though I’ve been recorded the whole thing and I did not touch her harm or anything like that but now her mother is already accuse me Going out to her car while her and her daughter are in the car and hurting her daughter wow her mother is in the car right there with her watching me steal said that i hurt her daughter What’s the strap to the course even though her daughter was in the car seat doors were shut and I can came outside but her daughter which is to send it I came outside and open the door and hurt her with a strap on her car seat keep in mind I was recording on my phone I was washing the dishes while they were still outside so my question is what do I need to do or ask what actions do I need to take Because my girlfriend has got it imprinted in her head that anytime any chance if I’m alone with her daughter Eva that I am intentionally harming her or hurting her because of what she said that I did that I know that I didn’t do and I just took it with a grain of salt what her daughter said. but she is bound and Determined that any little bump scratch bruise red mark is caused by me because she thinks I hold resentment towards her daughter What legal actions do I need to get ready to take

My daughter's mom and I broke up I Served her Custody paperwork the next day she got a lawyer the day after her lawyer called social services and said that I touched my daughter 2 years there's no specific date, I was living with my ex girlfriend at the time who knows for a fact this didn't happen and I have to go to court now for something I can't even prove because I don't have a date or time and I haven't seen my daughter in almost 2 years because of it I have a lawyer but everything is so drawn out it's driving me crazy right now. My daughter has said in interviews she doesn't remember anything like this happening.

My daughter was taken due to false allegations. My ex claimed I am too rough with her and I caused her unexplained fractures. I have hired a medical expert witness and they reviewed my daughters chart and have diagnosed her with a rare condition. I have not got to go before a judge yet but my attorney turned over this information to the police and to CPS but we have not heard a word it has been almost 2 weeks. It is so wrong how they can use false information and inaccurate medical reviews to just take someone's child away. I have not seen my daughter for 4 months now. They allowed her to be taken out of the state. I am spending every dollar I have to fight.

@daddy1976.i have no wealth I am a (peasant) I live hand to mouth .but I am differently (not broken) .people think I am broken because i didn’t want to be with the child’s mother (I f ing hate cheaters) that’s why I didn’t want to be with her ..I don’t care what she (looks like) gods truth she is (ugly deceitful toad )in my book .and i don’t no if I have been accused off abuse violence or inappropriate behaviour I cant see how I have no (contact) .but wouldn’t put it past her .there will be (no trouble) all they got to do is (leave me alone) .they don’t then there will be trouble and will see some violence .

Women are vicious when a relationship go’s sour. All the laws made in 80’s and 90´s are now a weapon to weaken men. Nobody cares about the mental well being of a loving father and all we are turned into is a cash machine. I been accused of violence, erotically kissing my daughter and many other things. I was so scared to go court that I stupidly agreed on the ridiculous amount of child support I have to pay just because I wanted to see my daughter. I Sold my businesses as I was mentally broken from all the endless fighting and knowing I would get short changed. I now pay what I calculated my actually costs and not a penny more. I could not care less if she sends debt collectors or not. All my wealth and properties are off shore and in my daughters name. All this nonsense on equality does not exist in this world. Luckily i had a waterproof prenup but the accusations on violence and abuse leave scars foerever, for a year I was wearing Speedo’s to take a bath with my daughter out of fear for being accused by my ex.
More attention should be paid to man’s mental health and big sentences should be posed on women who falsely accuse men. Right now they can do whatever they can to hurt and deceive

Ex accused me of control and coercive behaviour now her 12 year old daughter saying I touched her.. how one ended relationship can ruin your life..
Jonny 23/11/2019 at 12:36 pm
Kids are being used to hurt the other parent when relationships go south. Funny, nobody thought about how false accusations or separation of parent from parent and child would also hurt the family. Your attorney will want to bring in witnesses of who has seen you interact with the children. Step one is to make it past the flawed court system. There will be very tough and long term emotional pain as a result of the accusations and separation that you will have to get through. Try to stay persistent and positive. I was a complete train wreck when this happened to me. I wish you the best.

Someone please help me, my beautiful baby granddaughter was taken from us after my daughter took her to hospital to get reassurance from them about a bruise not fading quickly, she was only 15 days old and was born using foreceps the midwife and health visitor are supporting my daughter and her partner but they are simply being disregarded. My daughter has a mental health condition but this has been managed well and since her daughters arrival she was thriving and they were both doing such a wonderful job. All she wanted was further reassurance as a first time mum she thought she was doing the best for her little girl. Social work are dragging up things from 11 years ago when she was 18 and I was struggling with depression. They are painting a truly horrific picture and it’s simply not fair. I’m desperate for help if anyone can.
Jemima 05/10/2019 at 12:57 am
I’m a single mum with 2 toddlers, 1 has additional needs because he doesn’t feed so decided to seek medical help which he tube feeds now. Now today had a melt down because his condition had become too much for me so it had an emotional day for me, whilst in this condition today, I had police called on me, they came broke down my door, arrested me for child negligence of the same child I have seek help for, had been treated like a criminal got throw in jail, have just got back from police station and taken to hospital to pick my daughter but son is still there, they want to run medical checks on him. Now my daughter won’t come upstairs to her room to sleep because of what she witnessed today, she says she’s scared so sleeping in the lounge.
Want to find out what’s my right for being treated like this. A mum going through this difficult time and being treated as a criminal for allegations not true.

My spouse of 5 years whom ive known for 14 years is being accused by his daughter for inappropriately touching her while tickling. Mother blew it up with no detail so to get ahead of this we called cps on ourselves. Now my spouse has been fired and i have been suspended from my job till pending legal services can advise my return to work. This mother is upset because my spouse got clean from drugs and started turning his life around with me and started seeing his daughter when we refused to give her $ on the side anymore instead of paying child support she with held the child we called cps for parent alienation abuse neglect and drug abuse info we gathered over the years and from the child the weekend before she took her. We filed motions were granted 50/50 custody. Mom then continuesly violated the order for parenting time weather ditching or keeping the child off schedule. We argued about it and then 5 days later she sent a text accusing him of inappropriate touching. 24 hours later she decided to state his daughters detailed accusations. Then started apologizing for mishandling after confronted. Now she is back and forth.

My ex partner also has been making up false allegations for the last 4 years.I've had social checks and spot on check by police which have all been okay. I originally had a non-molestation order which ran out some time ago. He's had harrassment warning from police, our sons pre school rang 999 previously because father was trying to abduct him and I had a court order which stated to be one of my days. In February 2019 my sons father refused to return him after a handover. I applied for a court hearing to get him back but unfortunately more accusations were made up and it took 3 months to get a hearing. Within 4 months I saw my son once in a contact centre and my son and other siblings never got to see one another once during this period. My ex partner breached many orders prior this too. I've done nothing to be nasty towards him and I just do not get why he is doing this. My poor baby is stuck in the middle too. I have shown all evidence but somehow he has now been granted for our son to live with him? No one wants to help unless it's for big bucks which I do not have and I really don't know where to go. I don't have social as they won't stay and police/other organisations are telling me there is not much they can do due to it being a civil matter. Another thing everything I said got twisted and why are family courts so private.. I believe there maybe something more to this case as I had many child workers backing me. And rather then sticking to the evidence the judge has put in what she 'believes could or could not be true! Please help

Recently my boyfriend's sister and her daughter had to move in with us because her mother been in jail and had no where else to go and her daughter got thrown out of grandma cuz she was lying and because she said she wanted to live with her mom. Me and her mom were close but she flipped out on me every other day and so i had to end that abuse. Well now her daughter is telling her mother I am threatening to slap her or last night she said I elbowed her when i walked by her but she didn't cry or make a noice waited till I went to my room and then said I did, and her mother flip out on me she keeps lying and saying I am doing something to her. I am not the only person that she said that's hit her she accused her uncle too and my boyfriend caught her lying about her catching our patio on fire she tryed to say she didn't do that but her own mom saw her she is 11 and I feel like she gonna ruin my reputation and my life over falsely accusation. And what's really sad is that her mom doesn't investigate she just believes but yet she doesn't cry or say hey that hurt me or anything what can I do to protect my self from a psychopath 11 year old. I can't kick them out or I would cuz since they been there now i have to take her to court to get her removed from my premises.

Wronglyaccused 06/03/2019 at 9:34 am
Ex has reported me to the social service due to something my 3 and half said reference a photo. I am completely innocent and have nothing to hide. My ex is trying to win full custody and pin made up events to make me out to be someone I'm not. This isn't the first time either. I'm worried for my daughters well being as this plotting, putting her through interrogations, examinations will have a massive effect on her later on in life.
I'm currently now wanting on the social services which have passed the details on to the MASH team. Whom have done so to the police.
What advise can anyone offer?
How do I act on this legally?
When will I get to see my daughter?
Kriti 28/02/2019 at 1:05 pm
@Jjj2018 You should file a false 498a case against your partner for wrong accusations against you plus you can file defamation case to spoil your reputation. If you'll able to prove yourself, there are high chances that you'll get custody of your child.

If my child is at child protection status for emotional abuse, am I entitled to legal aid?

To minimise disruption to my daughter I left the family home over 2 years back, my money is tied up so am currently representing myself.

My ex had a new partner move into the jointly owned home in july and was also pregnant. She asked my daughter if I ever touched her, the social services and police spoke to my daughter and did not further investigate. I myself was never questioned. Despite this my ex stopped all contact for 2 months.

Social services for 6 months said they couldnt enforce contact and my daughters needs were being met. Only when able to forward their assessment to my ex wifes solicitor did I have 2 hours every 2 weeks (with ex there) when she refused to restore contact after seeing my daughter was safe and happy I applied to court. My daughter then made further claims (again retracted in the same sentence the school expressed concerns that she said things to be able to then play). Shortly after a child in need conference agreed emotional abuse caused risk of significant harm.
Despite a judge agreeing staggered reinstated contact cafcass seperately recommended contact be removed (without contacting the case worker or accessing assessments).

I have now had two further hearings where my daughter has an appointed guardian, there are apparently question marks over the case worker following process.

To add insult to injury my exwife has somehow qualified for legal aid.

The social workers don't respond any longer their legal representative claimed "not had chance" to properly review!

I last saw my daughter over a month ago, the current case workers most recent update was "she seems fine".

It seems guilty until proven innocent is the approach whilst two agencies decide who got it wrong.

In the meantime my daughter will increasingly believe she has something to fear. My ex now says my daughter is afraid of all males. Although she stated this included being alone with her new partner (in a core group meeting) I remain removed from her life!

I have been seperated from my wife officially from 2015 when she left with my neice who we both have an order from the court for full parental rights and responsibilities along with a residence order for my address which is where we lived at the time of the order. As I said at the top she left in July 2015 went to woman's aid and claimed she was fleeing domestic violence which is a lie. She returned back to my house in late September 2015 and lived there until March 2017. She gained a brand new built house but before she moved into it when the house was ready she allowed her sister to live in the house for 6 months. When my ex moved into her new place I bought her new furniture and bits for her place we were getting on fine I had my neice every weekend and things were going well. September 2017 my stepson came to stay with his girlfriend for a short time this lasted until February 2018 when he got his own place. A few random things my stepson mentioned gave me cause for concern but he wouldn't give me te reason why he was asking. April 2018 my ex and stepson smashed the glass on my back door of the house forced their way in and my stepson pushed me against a wall and pushed a knife into my neck and demanded money for a debt. Along with the demand for the money he said if I didn't pay it he would make an allegation against me saying I abused him. The police arrived after I refused to pay any money and thd reason I Ave him was he would come back in a few days for more as it was hush money, as the allegation is untrue I refused to pay and I told him to go to the police. He refused to go with the police 6 times that night and hid reason was " mud sticks". He has already blackmailed someone before for 60k over a 5 month period. The previous blackmail was similar he got a guy to send nude pics of himself and as he was pretending to be a girl the guy sent them, he then called the guy and said the girl was only 15 so if you give me money I will expose you as being a pedophile. The threat didn't stop at the money that night he also told me he would tell all the neighbour's what I've supposed to have done to him and he would also call my employer he has carried these threats out so far and his last threat was I will never know another days rest because when he's finished with me his mother will carry on. He has since that night in April he's been back at my house and smashed the front windows on 4 more occasions. The last thing the both of them said was they will leave me with nothing and no one. My ex has stopped me seeing my neice, I'm the blood link to my neice not my ex. Can anyone help me please

Hi please help me, I'm being accused of child abuse on my own child. Both my children have been taken off me. If I'm proven not guilty will I ever get my kids back
SeparatedDads Editor 04/09/2018 at 11:43 am
Ringing social services every day will not help, SS will only intervene if the child is being negelcted or at a risk from harm by the other parent. If your child is being cared for adequetely social service can do nothing. whichwill help answer your question.

My wife has accused me of abusing our kid and her. She is trying to use this to get full custody. She already took our kid away 2 weeks ago. The police won't do anything. She has no proof and I am the one calling social services everyday for help. It seems all a woman has to do is say 'abuse' and you are evil. It got to a point during our relationship that I would not even touch our kid for fear of being labelled. The problem is our kid is autistic and refuses to go out, go to school etc and has breakdowns and lays on the pavement outside. I have to pick her up sometimes, help dress her when she won't and occasionally lead her by the hand so she does not get run over. I was primary school teacher and studied how to restrain kids and do the same thing when needed during tantrums. I also saw the doctors doing the same things. The problem is that my wife says any contact especially against the kid's will as abuse. The sad result has been that our kid knows she just has to have a tantrum and that either daddy will be too scared to touch her or if he does, some crying will set her mum off and they'll argue then the kid will win a day off.

Cafcass and the court are trained to see through false accusations. Your only recourse is to apply to court. If your ex has taken the children, then you have nothing to lose if you apply to have residency handed back to you. I suggest you join our Separated Dads forum as our dads can help advise how is best to approach this and what you can expect.

my ex failed my 2 children and they ended up living with me for a year and a half.
she picked them up for the holidays and adviced me that shes putting them into a new school and theyre gonna be living with her.
i told her social worker and was adviced to take her to court.
she now all of a sudden coerced my children into saying I've hit them and made false allegations of domestic violance when i was with her 10 years ago.
this is very sad and reduced me to tears because of the imotional blackmail on the kids and how they might be feeling mentally.
what can i do, as i k ow my kids are innocent in this and the fact that shes turning them against me is going to leave immotionaly irreversible effects on them.
SeparatedDads Editor 12/07/2018 at 11:44 am
If you wish to join the forum, contact the administrator and they will help you. You can find the contact details at the bottom of the site. We cannot speculate what a court may decide. As in all cases, the court’s main concern is the welfare of the child in question. The court will always put the child’s best interests first and this main issue will determine the outcome of any application for an order.
SeparatedDads Editor 09/07/2018 at 12:30 pm
Unless your ex can prove you have been a bad parent i.e you have a restraining order or the police have been involved then she cannot prove this in court. The best advice is to keep away from your ex as much as you can so as not to provoke any antagonism. Cafcass and the courts are wise to false accusation and know the correct questions to ask in order to define whether your ex is telling lies or the truth. Remember in court your ex is under oath to tell the truth. Therefore, if your ex is lying you have nothing to worry about.

Can someone please help me. I have just come out of a relationship in which my ex cheated on me and kicked me out of the house. I was a full time dad to my then 2 step children for 5 years then we had our son who is now 2. But since this has happened she is making things up about how bad a parent i was the 2 things i know of is forcing my step daughter to eat a chip and hitting them which is massive lies. I am in the process of court proceedings to get access and with no doubt she will bring these accusations up how do i defend myself and what evidence can i use to show i have done nothing wrong
Wrongly Accused 27/06/2018 at 2:23 pm
There is some good advice about what to do on this site if you are falsely accused. Social services can totally overreact and you should definitely take it extremely seriously if you are accused. My family was wrongly accused of harming my daughter's child by her former partner. The child had a mild unexplained bruise. We, as a family, were totally innocent, and so we thought it would it would be a simple matter to clear up. From being a normal family just going about our business, with no previous social services' involvement, it blew up into something huge. Social services removed the child for over a year. We were investigated by police. We had to go to court to have the child returned to our care and we spent £30,000 in legal fees until we were totally exonerated. I don't want to scare anyone unnecessarily but a false accusation can have massive consequences. I would say do all you can to collect positive evidence in your favour. If anyone wants to read the whole story of what happened to us, our family published an account of it on Amazon Kindle. We called the eBook "Wrongly Accused." Since you're not allowed to identify a child, we had to anonymise our account and we listed it as a "Family Publication" instead of putting our names to it. We have been trying to raise awareness of the issues surrounding child removals after someone is accused. Removal is draconian for mere suspicion, but it is become more and more common. Post Baby P professionals are terrified of getting it wrong and missing abuse. Innocent families are reaping the results of this. Rather than giving the benefit of the doubt, often a child is just removed. It is likely that the media baying for blood when professionals make mistakes has led to this climate of paranoia in child protection so that totally innocent families can end up separated for very long periods.

Hi, my partner has been accused if making my 14 yr old niece feel 'awkward' she is really very close to us, the spare room is even called her room she is here that often and she has always had a very close bond with her uncle. She said she was feeling sick so he was rubbing her back got her some water gave her a cuddle then a kiss goodnight, all this is normal behaviour given how close a family we are and how he practically looks at her like another daughter!! I was there the whole time, my niece has added 2 lies to the story 1. The bedroom door was shut ( it wasn't I was on the landing sorting out the laundry) 2. He kisses her on the lips goodnight and has never done that before (only the week before he kissed her on the lips and said goodbye) so I know this is normal as throughout all our family we always do! Her mum (my sister) has I'm sure seen this as an opportunity to destroy my family and partner through what I can only assume as jealousy, we are both getting married and she's had some clear problems with it as has been very vocal and competitive over our weddings. She has also spoke to mutual friends (previous to the accusation) of how she doesn't like my partner and has basically tried to ruin his good name! She sent a threatening text to me 2 days ago saying she will go to the police about my 'weird fiance' if I continue to protect him against these claims!! It's torn the whole family apart as all members have rushed to my partners side to reassure him this is just wrong and cruel, my sister has took a firm stand and is hell be my on destroying him, yet she hasn't gone to the police regarding the situation!?! Surely if she felt that strongly she would have?? But we can't live with this accusation or threat anymore and have no idea where to turn or what action to take, he hasn't slept for days, he can't speak to anybody about it as it's just sick and humiliating but I need to know if there is something or someone we can turn to to help resolve this and put an end to it.

Hi.. I'm so upset right now, my son who is a loving Single dad to he's two & a half year old son was accused of hurting he's sons arm. The health visitor and a lady was around my sons house to “support him because my son suffers from anxiety caused by a number of things including a road accident and he's girlfriend leaving their son when he was just 3 months old, he basically looked after him from being a new born because he's girlfriend wasnt a natural mother and she was just unable to cope with the huge change, she only changed the babies nappy a handful of times since he was a new born to the 3rd and final time she'd left. My son stood up to the mark beautifully and has dedicated he's life to he's son the only thing is he's been struggling with this terrible anxiety and panic attacks, so because he has problems he's been getting support every 2 weeks with the health visitor and a lady from the nursery that my grandson attends 3 times a week, this lady doesn't work at the nursery but she attends there once every 2 weeks to support the children their and any needs they might require like speech therapy or a hearing test, anyway a few days ago she turned up with the health visitor and she noticed a spot on my grandsons arm, she mentioned this to my son but didn't make a fuss, a few hours later the health visitor called my son up to tell him that she's had to call the social services but this lady told her in the car she thought it looked like a burn mark made by a cigarette, my son and I was naturally upset because the health visitor knows my son very well and she knows that my son would die for he's son. I didn't know what to do, so I took him straight to the doctors to get him checked over to confirm that it wasn't a burn just a spot that looked to me as an insect bite. She checked him over and confirmed it wasnt a burn, her words were " no there's no trauma to the skin as you'd expect to see with a burn, I told them that my son doesn't smoke and therefore it'd be impossible, plus he wouldn't harm a hair on he's head. Anyway I walked out of the doctors feeling better and more relaxed. That night an emergency team of social services came down and said that they still want a full medical at the hospital, they said they were happy with the home situation of were my grandson lives and they said they could tell he was well cared for and then they said something which horrified me they said they had the power to remove my grandson from my son that night if they thought he was in danger I felt so let down by the doctor and healtj visitor and this lady who started this nonsense. I took him to the hospital for a full medical with the social services standing there, who were really nice actually, but I was still fuming and extremely upset by the whole situation. Anyway two doctors looked at him and confirmed it was an insect bite or ringworm which I've never heard of. I was sent home with my grandson with antiseptic cream and

@ Upset mumma - a 'tap' wouldn't leave a red mark. Social Services will have to conduct an investigation. They have to protect and safeguard children.

My partner tapped my 4yr old daughter on the bottom as she was refused to go to sleep at 10pm and was making alot of noise and being cheeky, it left a red mark (not bruising) which i didnt notice the next day but when she went to nursery staff were helping her in the bathroom and saw the mark then referred it to social services now my partner is not allowed to stay in our family home or see my children ( i have 5) whom all ask when their dad (not biological) is coming home he has never raised a had to me or my children over the years it was not his intention to smack my daughter but to tap her bottom to reinforce what he had told her, we had both been up stairs several times to put her back to bed and told her to go to sleep from 7pm (her bed time) this happened on monday it is now friday and i have not heard anything the social services keep telling me its a police matter, the police took a statement off of me on Wednesday night, but have not spoken to my partner yet, this is ripping our family apart my children all love him and are very upset as they have not seen him since monday when i was advised he should not b allowed to stay at home, please help

@Traumatised - you can't take the nursery to court for checking up on your child. If there was good reason why the nursery thought SS should be called, then you have to be thankful that someone is looking out for your kid. SS get lambasted enough for overlooking possible domestic abuse - yet when they check a child, you the parents think it's an insult. That's the compensation culture for you!

My 3 year old little boy bumped his ear while his dad lifted him down from his window ledge (his bed is next to his window, he steps onto the wide windowsill and hides behind his blind, he thinks it's great but we know it's dangerous and don't allow it and remove him immediately for his safety) after he pulled on the window handle while being lifted away, which jilted him, knocking his ear off the corner of the wall where it bevels into the window. When the nursery asked him how he hurt his ear his response was, my dad did it. He's only 3, I know what he said would have sounded bad but rather than ask, how did your dad do it and get the explanation of "he lifted me and I bumped it" they phoned social services. Obviously the case was closed and no further involvement from police or ss will be happening (they interviewed him, then came to my home and interviewed me and didn't even have the need to interview his dad after confirming my sons account of events with my interview) but when they first made the call my son was collected from nursery and interviewed in a police station (the school would not accommodate the interview as is usual procedure) medically examined naked, taken away by strangers and I was given no info other than that I was not allowed to collect him from nursery and not allowed to go and get him and social services we're involved, for two and a half hours I went through hell with no clue what was going on, I was literally a mess, and still feel traumatised by what happened. It feels like me and my son and his father were all put through terrible experiences over nothing and I feel the nursery is at fault. I'm nervous to even leave him there now after the experience and have been having nightmares about the whole thing since. I'm very close to my son and with him all the time, having him tore away from me by complete strangers and not being able to go to him and get him absolutely destroyed me and I feel a million times more protective over him. I'm hurt he had to be medically examined naked and go through a police interview at 3 years old. He hasn't left my side since it happened and has became clingy again after being so independent, it's affected him and me, it only lasted a short time but it's had a serious affect on us, can I take this further?

If your child is in care and you’re unhappy about their treatment, you can make a complaint. Talk to your child’s carer or social worker first and if you’re not happy, you can complain to your council. The Family Rights Group Advice Service helpline provides confidential support for parents

@Pod - if there is no evidence against you and no further action taken, then hopefully the court will see your side. The courts are pretty wise to some mothers pulling dirty tricks such as this. Have faith and don't give up. You have not been proven guilty, therefore you are innocent. Best of luck.

Please help me! My best friend Sarah has a contact order with her childrens father Daniel (biological father of Leo aged 5 and Harry aged 6, but raised my cousins daughter Emily aged 7 from birth, although he's not her biological father.) In court Sarah did not contest to Daniel still seeing Emily as Emily believes Daniel is her father. The contact order states that the children see their dad every fortnight from Friday to Sunday. Sarah has received nothing but verbal, mental and emotional abuse from this man since they separated last year and he uses the children as weapons to hurt her. She received a message from him today stating that he isn't bringing the children home as he's spoken to social services and they've advised him to keep them as he has concerns for their safety at home. Sarah has been told she must contact social services in the morning to see what happens now. She is a wonderful mother and the children are NOT in danger with her in anyway shape or form. I am qualified in childcare and safeguarding, I would 100% say so if I thought they were being abused or neglected, but they're not. They could not be more loved by their mother. In fact, Sarab has concerns they are being emotionally and verbally abused at their fathers house. She has made reports of this to social services, the police and children's safeguarding team who all say there's nothing they can do as there's no evidence. She is now out of her mind with worry, thinking she'll have to go to court to get her children back, she is even frightened of the thought of never seeing her beloved babies again. Is there anything she can do to prove he is making false allegations to social services to take her children away? Someone please help I'm desperate to help her, her kids are her world and I'm afraid she won't cope if this carries on.

(All names have been changed.)

Hello I'm not sure if this is the right place but here goes. So in a nutshell. I have four kids with three different dads with two older kids sharing the same dad. In 1998 the aunt and uncle of my two older kids took my children and drug me through an ugly 2 1/2 year custody battle that I was almost finished with in 2000, and I was expecting to gain back full custody in may of 2000. That was cancelled never to be rescheduled because the father of my youngest child teamed up with the aunt and got a restraining order against me six weeks after the birth of our child. He told lies to everyone including my GAL. Subsequently my trial was discontinued and that would be the last time I ever saw my oldest daughter again. She was 8 at that time and now she is 25. My ex went on to lie to the courts and have me charged with domestic violence in 2000. I plead guilty under extreme circumstances to get out of jail. I was so scared and traumatized at this point I went on the run trying to change my identity and ended up with a whole lot more trouble, I have spent years trying to get past that stuff. In 2003 I learned of an open CPS case involving my son. This had to do with a broken leg Nicky suffered in his dads care. When I called to inquire about this case I was told that my baby had suffered other injuries which included red marks and bruises around his neck, I was then told that I need to get a lawyer and they could not tell me anymore. I insisted that they remove my child and even place him in foster care and investigate this man his father. I knew that Robert caused these injuries to our child and I was being told to get a lawyer. This made no sense to me as I had no idea what was happening. I decided to write a letter as internet was not quite available at that time yet. So I wrote a letter to the Ombudsman of child safety and explained my situation. Soon after I received a letter informing me that they investigated and was satisfied with the status of CPS. Still didn't know what was happening or where to turn next. Finally in 2004 while I was serving a sentence at Roberts house, I asked him for the truth and explanation as to what the situation was and why CPS was telling me to get a lawyer and finally I asked how did Nicky get red marks and bruises around his neck. Robert proceeded to tell me that he had lost his temper with Nicholas one morning and caused these injuries. He said because he was already being watched by CPS and didn't want to get in any trouble so he told CPS that I caused these injuries. So in 2015 I finally saw the actual court documents in which Robert actually in his writing acusing me of these atrocities. I decided to write a letter to CPS explaining all of this and they still denied being able to help me or even to look into this. Well I can't let this go first and foremost because my child who is now 17 years old is still being abused by this man. In fact my son said his dad kicked him in the ribs just a week ago. I had a ph

My wife moved away into a home for domestically abused women .
She only did this ,as she was just fed up and wanted to move away .
Because she had to be a victim of abuse to stay in this charity home, she had to have a domestic abuse story . So she made up a story that I have been inappropriately touching my children. The staff from the home referred her to social services where she repeated her lies .
Many months later she realised her mistake and told social services her allegations were false and she had lied . I have read on the Internet that these allegations stay on file.
Will I be able to see my children normally again without intervention from social services .

I'm afraid we cannot comment on a question such as this because of the complex issues involved. Your daughter's only recourse would be to seek legal advice about whether her case can be heard through the courts.

Hi my daughter has been fighting for almost two years to get her son back from out of foster care he was 9 weeks old when he was taken to hospital very ill doctors said it was a brain bleed and had a rib fracture ( shaken baby) prior to this she took him numerous occasions because of projectile vomiting for them to say she's over feeding him.. the farther after 18 months and after judgment he came forward to say he fell with him( nothing was done about this) my daughter has had a polygraph test done that said she didn't hurt him yet they are still trying to get him adopted out . Even though farther has changed story over and over again my daughter's has remained the same. How can the social services justify this ???? They treated farther better than my daughter and it kills me knowing what she's going through its so hard I Love my grandson dearly I don't want him to be adopted.

I cannot give you any more advice than your solicitor already has. You have no legal right to see your kids if your ex has refused access over a domestic incident - as advised by your solicitor, you would have to apply to court. We cannot predict what a court will decide, it will always decide on what it thinks is in the best interests of your children.

Please help. I've been with hubby 14 yrs (married 13) I had 4 year old daughter when we got together. We've had 5 children together since and are still very much in love. Our eldest (his step) recently falsely accused Hubby of historical abuse and rape incl right up until May this year, daughter is 19 next month.
Hubby was arrested, questioned, on bail till January. He was not allowed home for 35 days on social services request. Social have now completed their risk assessments and he came home yesterday but is still under investigation. No evidence found and our daughter has always been a massive attention seeker and liar constantly making up stories. She had accused a young lad in the army at the beginning of the year which ended in court martial, the boy was found not guilty. Our daughter is texting we further stories and all the time changing and contacting the other children which is scaring them and myself. We have got stronger as a family but I'm so scared incase she creates a story that she can carry off to be more believed, do we have any protection against this either during or after the investigation, and also can I get a restraining order against her? Please advise, I'm desperate to protect our other children from her, and of course my husband. I am completely behind him even though social have said I have to be the supervisor with children while he's at home during investigation as it could be possible he's guilty. It's like it's never going to end. I'm pretending to be brave and strong and were getting counselling to deal with what she's done to us and the children, this has also affected hubby's side of the family, my daughter has been raised as though she's his own and by his family, her biological wanted nothing to do with her since she was 3 months. I hope someone can help. Thanks x

... Although I always tried to help him see things more objectively, I should have been ready for this - that he may one day accuse me too. It is just a matter of time.

I will continue to contact him from time to time, especially on important dates. I will continue to love him deeply. But if he chooses to hate me or hate me more due to his dad's words about me, I don't think there is much I can do about it. At the end of the day, I need some peace in my soul. I need to take care of myself and my younger son. And he, though autistic, still needs to learn about responsibilities and integrity.

I love life. I feel that finally I can walk with my head up. I have been through a lot and have thought that life had been so unfair to me until today. Compared to what some of you experienced, I made an earlier exit to avoid incoming legal mess that could drag me into impossible mental abyss. But through you I convinced myself I had done the right thing. My son is finally enjoying his dad's attention after so many years of absence. Though they had two big physical fights, they have more common interests (even obsessions) and do get along easier. His dad also gives him tons of time to stay alone, even eat dinner in his bedroom. I wish him good luck. I am working on myself and hoping that I can continue to do well in my career and raise my little one to be a productive person with good personality.

This totally broke my heart. I have been depressed even suicidal. I felt like a failure. All my friends asked me why I did it. They just couldn't get it. And I have lost the strength to explain, after realizing the more I explain, the worse I would feel. It is funny how I can turn from a perfect mom of two healthy, gifted boys in all kinds of sports, music, cultural and religious activities as well as entertainment to a loser mom overnight. Life is so ironic.

I reread the email from my son last year where he congratulated me on my birthday and used many words to describe how awesome I was as his mom. Did he really say that? I can't believe it myself. But he did. So I guess on some days he knew I was a great mom. I guess even he did not know why he could be so frustrated and mean to me. I guess he didn't understand the consequence of his words or behaviors - how they could jeopardize our loving relationship which has survived a lot of hardships and is supposed to get stronger. I guess he didn't really mean what he said or wrote or drew. I guess he never meant to hurt me physically. I guess it was autism. I guess puberty made it worse. I guess I did nothing wrong.

But I have got to stop explaining myself. I have got to stop regretting the past and thinking about what I could have done. I have got to stop sending him emails, messages, postcards, clothes, gifts, giftcards, etc. I have only been rejected or cursed so far. I have got to focus on my job and my younger son who is not autistic. He needs his mom, too.

Reading your stories convinced me that my fears when he accused me were not unfounded. What happened to you could have happened to me. Even though I have not changed the divorce judgment only allowed reduction in child support in hope that he may come back to me, I am not sure that he wouldn't assault me again or wrongly accuse me again.

When my son was 7, he had a close friend with ADHD. One day they played at his friend's house for a while and then they came back. My son told me that his friend's dad spit to his face. I could not believe it as his friend's dad has been very nice to him. But for some odd reason, his friend (who has low self esteem and believes he is stupid) said yes yes my dad did that when I asked him what happened. So I felt that I had to ask his friend's dad what happened. Although I tried to not sound accusational at all, they were still very offended and totally cut off contact with us. My son lost his best friend and I lost a family that used to be very kind and welcoming and helpful to us.

I think part of the reason is that autistic children are very sensitive and egocentric. Once they formed a misconception, no one can convince them otherwise. I remember how my son accused his coach a racist and his swim team members of kicking him intentionally in the pool in order to slow him down. I mean, he has told me so many stories about others offending him over the years. Although I al

Thanks everyone for sharing your stories. I am not sure that I can be of much help but I chose to let go when my high functioning autistic son said I abused him to the social worker that I got to help us deal with his aggression mainly towards me. I have worked so hard to raise him and train him all sorts of skills throughout the years and spent all my money and energy on him, with little to spare on his little brother. And this was what I got?! To be accused of child abuse by my own son who I have loved more than anyone in this world?! When the social worker probed him to talk more, he got emotional and clenched his fists and said I abused him by following him around in the house. The truth was he had meltdowns and damaged things in the house and I felt that I had to get him to stop. Of course he would run away from me and of course I felt that I had to tell him it was wrong and he shouldn't do it again. Since my son didn't argue about the facts. The social worker was able to not believe it was any child abuse. But it scared the hell out of me. I was already on the edge of a mental breakdown due to his constant aggression, both verbal and physical. He drew pictures of killing me and posted them on the wall, too. He wished me to get a car accident before he got on school bus. He told other parents I was the worse mom ever. Though the social worker believed me this time, what if he keeps saying it over and over? I was sure an investigation would follow and totally ruin our always very fragile life. I have raised him alone most of his life. Yet now his one word may make me lose the custody of both him and his very innocent little brother any day. This totally destroyed my faith in any good future for us. Though his therapists and the social workers kept saying that I should call the police next time he assaults me, I figured (after doing my own research) that it would not stop him as he would be sent home within 24 hours unless I was seriously hurt and had to be hospitalized. It seems to be a result no less miserable that what it was already. I chose to send him to his dad who lived more than a thousand miles away.

It was the hardest decision I have ever made. And I regretted it the same day he was gone. And I have tried all kinds of means to get him back. But he said I abandoned him and he would kill me if I dare to show up again in front of him (I flew there to see him and possibly get him back). He violently attacked me with a wooden sword and then a baseball bat right after his dad left the house with his girlfriend.

This totally broke my heart. I have been depressed even suicidal. I felt like a failure. All my friends asked me why I did it. They just couldn't get it. And I have lost the strength to explain, after realizing the more I explain, the worse I would feel. It is funny how I can turn from a perfect mom of two healthy, gifted boys in all kinds of sports, music, cultural and religious activities as well as entertainment to a

Please I've gone threw every possible step and my only step now is to contact you regarding my sons safety .. I attended a meeting yesterday regarding my son Rhys blankson Blake who's mother is under a investigation on section act 47 the meeting took place and it was adviced for Rhys to stay with his father due to great concerns of Rhys being with his mum as she has kicked him out the house at the age of 8 at 11pm in 4 years old bottoms no top on and a little coat also in shoes that was 2 sizes to small for him during that meeting it was also noted that he had not been attended school since 8th November and been at home left by him self the school also had great concern when Rhys came into school telling them that his mother kicked and pushed him down. In the meeting we had yesterday the mother was adviced not to pick him up from school and if she did social services would take legal action .. however this did happen today and we was told that the police are out looking for her and when they find her Rhys will be brought back to the care of me however this didn't happen and Rhys had ended up in the care of his grandmother (on the mother side) we have seen on the new some many of these cases where Social services have made the wrong decision and this is the case Rhys is in danger at his nans house as the mother is always there Rhys has told us before he went to school he was scared to go back to school because he didn't want his mum to come and take him so she could hurt him please social services have been no help and we are asking what my rights as a father are what can we do regarding Rhys I'm very worried and we need to take action asap we have videos regarding the mother we have a lot of evidence and the school is strongly on our side

I am a dad to 2 kids. I am separated from their mother. we have a good relationship and get on well. today I found out that my daughter (9) went to school and told the teacher that I hit her. this is a lie but now I am concerned for a few reasons. 1. why is she acting out now? she can't even remember me and her mother being together. we always have fun and laugh a lot and she says she explained joys our time together. 2. school called their mother and told her what she said and now their mother doesn't know what to believe and there is a possibility that the school will raise this issue to social services. I have ever nothing to be guilty of but I am worried to the point of feeling sick. I just don't understand why she would say something like this. I couldn't imagine my life without her in it. I don't think she understands the serious implications lies like this could have on people. any one in a similar situation please reach outility and give .evidence some advice.

I'm going through a horrible divorce and custody battle. My ex called cps on me over a year ago saying I choke my son and nothing substanciated. Then in July she had my 7 year old daughter go into her counsoler and tell them I fondled her 3 times over a year ago. She lost custody in april and her mother has temporary custody. Then had my daughter tell her counsoler and the psycologist that cps sent her to and lie. The state police investigated me and chose not to charge me with anything but cps is waiting for the psychological report to come back. And my ex was diagnosed mentally retarded and his that from me the whole time I was married. She is also currently on trial for armed robbery. I'm at my witts end.

Hello,

I was accused of different things and had to fight my way through. I am a mum but feel I should be with the Dads fighting as I agree with the points dad make more often. I pay CSA. Get yourself a Barrister they are far better than solicitor. Find a Barrister that also sits as a Judge. They are expensive but they usually know the Judge in your court room at a different level to a normal solicitor. Stay strong! I find it incredibly difficult as the father of my childrens aim in life was to destroy my life when I left him.
I wish you the best of luck. Why should these parents get Child Tax Credits and CSA it is crazy is this country! The children would benefit so much more having both parents in a stable and good emotional place. One parent getting so much money is wasted and not put to good use. By the other parent being able to support themselves and pay a mortgage it shows the children a good role model. Yet CSA take from one and give more to the other. Don't give up! I can witter on too as it gets to me. I left my ex years ago and at times I don't feel mentally strong and seem to wish the next few years away. I then think my ex has taken everything. A social worker once told me to go and get a degree apparently CSA can't get you then, your children will be proud and at the end on a larger wage. You will really show her then. Good Luck!!

Hello, I am currently going through a pretty messy custody battle for my daughter. Since I left my ex for someone else the ex has been making my life a living hell. The ex has contacted CPS several times and I have had CPS at my home once already and again coming up soon. Apparently my daughter tells the ex that my current partner has hit her. I know that this isn't true because of the way she interacts with him. She loves him and laughs and had fun. I also know that my daughter makes stories up about being hit for example, she tells me that Tom, my partner, hit her last night and she wasn't even here she was at her dads. I don't know why she says these things and don't know what to do about these accusations. I feel like I have no one on my side and fear I will lose my daughter over false accusations. What do I do??

You would have to apply through court to see your children on a C100 contact form and a C4 form which is an application to the court for an order for the disclosure of a child's whereabouts. While the courts may still be able to withold the address if your ex requests this, it will allow the courts to put a trace on your children in orde to allow you to apply for access.

Hi readers I've read lots of your same stories this system desinged to protect children at risk is a cash incentive for the ones stealing our kids its easy to speculate events and occurrences however unfairly kids pressurised into disclosure s renders no truth because immature children can exaggerate events coupled by social workers opinions and coercing tackicts wen parents are not around did he do this and that may I add inn this is unjust tactics because every child can have access to a solicitor wen questioned by police during a investigation process its difficult for any parent to face unfair practices and that's not all it goes further if accused by authorities of abuse this weyher true or false this leaves a mark somewhere against yourself by being dragged through court humilited and degraded usually brought on by social workers attempting to gain control
Of your kids mountainous lies follow and this line of barbaric separation of kids and parents should not be alloud until proved against parents not on the balance of probabilities but factual events but I know the way the local department s around the country are getting away with crimes against ordinary parents they claim police investigation s As a scaremongering hoping the parents will give therchildren over to them were the kids can be placed in foster care with pre, plans to possibly adopt you'll probs also be subjected to child neglect charges and is your 1 of the unlucky ones a police raid may occur to your home whether the allegations are true or false for example your selling drugs or stolen property this may all be incorrect the Socialwork dept and powers by a multisgency core group and there co,workers police housing schools and nursery placements are all conjoined and will make assumptions on your child's schooling dresscode appearance timekeeping etc and talk behind your backs if they have a small issue example headlice smells, latecomings, truenting all make a picture of neglect especially if you ghave a large family and are juggiling care for lots of kids at the same time Socialwork ERS discrimination against larger families is disgusting because they categorized one child gets less or more than the other sibling and challenge your parenting skills were contact has been cut due to assumptions oragred deals by children's hearings this only fuels there determination to dividyou as a family by eventually by slashing more contact backed up by there scaremongering during the children's panel system however unfairly this may seem the social services have 1 thing above the parents and that's the law on there side however the situation what is shown to have occurred may never have happened this is Socialwork allegations not the children as they twist every word on care and portray I'll parents unable to provide to be nonsense all I can advise others if your facing this now or ongoing if you've did nothing wrong ten police investigations questions on your children won't pul

For 10 years, my ex has had it out for me. Starting with the original allocation of parental responsibility back in 2005. Fast forward 10 years, I am married, and my wife and I have a 20 month old daughter. I have remained compliant with the parental orders, and have been relatively on track with child support. Christmas of 2015 was the last time I saw my daughter Molli (who is now 12, the child I have with my ex). We had a good holiday, and Molli went back with her mom a few days after christmas. After almost a month of not seeing molli, and not able to reach my ex on the phone or email, I went a filed a motion basically holding her in contempt of court for restricting me of my parenting time. I think it was 2 days after filing my motion, I recieved a phone call from social services and was told I had to report to court for a dependency neglect hearing. It wasn't until I got to court when I realised what i was being accused of. Serious incest rape, along with drug and alcohol use, and an array of other accusations. I was told a criminal investigation was taking place, and restraining orders were put in place completely alienating me from my daughter molli. This all hit me like a freight train. For the first month I slipped into a serious depression. I figured the only way I could proove my innocence was by taking a polygraph test, which I did in February of 2016. Specific questions were asked. I answered truthfully and passed the polygraph test showing no sign of deception. The polygraph has done nothing for me. About a month later, 15 police showed up to my house, and conducted a search warrant searching for specific items noted by my 12 year old daughter. That search was conducted last week. I told the detective my attorneys have advised I do not speak to anyone regarding this matter. The detective told me she would be presenting the "evidence" to the DA and I would know within the next 2 weeks whether they press charges on me. That happened a week ago and still no charges or anything. My attorney thinks they are going to press charges but that's just his thought. I am still living at home with my wife and youngest daughter. I am living in a paranoid manner thinking everytime our dogs bark, it's surely the police coming to arrest me. I need help. I have 2 attorneys monitoring the investigation. I also have another attorney handling the d&n case. I still don't feel adequately protected and am quite frankly in fear for my life

I have just spent two months on remand spent 15k on legal fees, to have the cps offer no evidence on false allegations made against me by my ex partner and her new partner against my 3 year old daughter. I've been to see a family solicitor who told me it would cost around 20k I would go in trail again but in a family court they go off a balance of probabilities rather tha without reasonable doubt that I could have done what I was accused of, if found guilty in the family court I would not be able to work with children ever again, also if I had children with anyone else the social workers would be involved, I am a qualified youth worker and have my own business youth train St. Helens we deliver a boxing based course to problematic children with challenging behaviour, when I met my ex partner she had a 3 year old girl which I have looked after until she was 14 when me and her mum decided to separate. I pay a DD every week for both children and until this had my daughter 4 nights a week and my step daughter stayed with me once a a week, I have never had any problems with any child, I feel lost and really don't know what to do if there's is anything you can advise it would be much appreciated

Hello I have a long story to share and get opinions . I have been a babysitter for about 3 years after I had my son ( I am 20 years old) anyways I normally just babysit friends kids and all but one day someone knocked on my door (I live in an apartment complex and the lady downstairs brought her friend ) and asked if I could watch her kids because she will no longer be able to watch them . Anyways I've never meet them before and I always feel bad saying no to kids so I said sure . It would only be 3 days a week for about 3 hours.it was 2 little kids a boy who is 4 and a baby girl who is 9 months . Well when I started watching them everything was good expect the kids that I was watching were having a hard time playing with a baby so there was an incident where the baby got hurt (which I called the dad to let him know what happend and he said it was fine that his kids play rough at home) . The second insistent happend while I was cooking and the kids were playing in the living room(my apartment is kind of closed of so I can't really see from the kitchen to the living room ) anyways I hear the baby cry and I rush to the kitchen and asked her brother what happens since he is the one that talks a little more and he said one of the girls I babysit hit the baby with a toy . So when the dad got there to pick them up I told them what happens and he said it was fine she had only a scratch or two . Well after that I felt uncomfortable watching the baby because I didn't really know the parents and it was the second insident so I didn't wanna be responsible for anything and happening to the baby. Well the week after I get a visit from cps! And was being accused of hurting the baby ! It was the worst day of my life . I've never in my life done anything to a child and have never been accused of anything other than this time. I don't know what to do if I should get a lawyer ? Or down thing . The parents have gone through child abused before because the dad had done it to the older kids and he actually beat his wife (the wife called me the next day freaking out and told me all this ) so not sure if the dad did something and now I'm being blamed for it .
Confused step-mom 21/03/2016 at 2:47 pm
My husband got accused of child abuse by his son. He supposedly told the school his father was beating him. When we went to get the kids foe a visit their mother said the kids were sick. I thought that seemed strange so I looked at my daughters Facebook account and she said to her boyfriend that her mom was getting sole custody because her brother was being beaten. I was in shock and shaking. I called my husband who called his ex wife and she wanted to know how we heard about that? We confirmed that we looked at the daughters Facebook, we were immediately blocked and social services came to our home. They interviewed my children whom live with us, whom told social services they have never seen my husband ever even spank his son. The case came back unsubstantiated but my husband had to have supervised visits for 3 months. During those visits the caseworker was there at all times and submitted letters to the lawyer stating the children were loving and happy to see their dad and couldn't understand why they were even having to have supervised visits. The kids have been in therapy and my husband goes too with his ex wife. The therapist thinks things are going great and didn't think the kids need to come back to therapy for a couple months. The ex wife wants a new therapist. The kids got to come back for partial visits Saturday-Sunday. During that time the ex wife calls the kids non stop. What right does my husband have? We have a lawyer but if he was found unsubstantiated, and told from children services that the kids seem really happy, how come he doesn't have all of his rights back?
On the verge of a br 19/03/2016 at 9:20 am
I have a 8 year daughter, her attendants is 100% and she is never late for school, she's never had a day off school or gone into school with any marks or anything she's been going to the same school since nursery (2011) so the school well knows my child. My child return to school after the February half term. A teachers assissant overheard a another child telling my daughter how her mother beats her & grounds with a belt and the teacher assissant assumed it was my daughter that this had happened to. They questioned & questioned my child & stripped her to see these so called marks & said there was marks and she had a black eye all this happened on the Monday I wasn't informed til Wednesday when I went into school they had called police & social workers. I removed my child from the school and took my daughter straight to my GP where they gave my child the once over and confirmed there wasn't any marks nor a black eye. The next day the police came out to see me and my daughter and they too confirmed my child did not have any marks to what the school was saying. 3 weeks later the 2 social workers turned up at my door they spoke to myself, my child I had to show them round my house they said they still needed to check with police and the school and my GP which you would have thought they would have done that already after 3 weeks. 2 days later the social services show up again with some form/contract to sign to say I won't hit my child. But the thing is I never did in the first place and they haven't even heard my daughters statement.
What can I do as I'm on the verge of a breakdown I've never had involvement with social services before???

If there are concerns about the safety or welfare of a child or children, once you have had your assessment, your child's later explanation will be accepted, or it may be decided that a further investigation is needed. It is understandable that in order to safeguard and promote your child’s welfare, precautions need to be taken to ensure there is no reasonable cause to believe that your child may be at risk of significant harm.

My 6yr old son is extremely accident prone, he has the ability to fall over from standing still. For about 6 months, around the time my daughter started needing more attention, my sons behaviour has been atrocious. Shouting, lying etc etc. Last week while his dad was away, he started shouting at me, stormed off, ran upstairs, and in doing so he slipped and fell from the top of the stairs, hitting the radiator at the bottom. He had some marks on him including a cut under his nose and on his lip. He then got up, stormed off upstairs again shouting that I did it on purpose and he's going to tell everyone I hurt him! Next day at school, he tells his teacher when asked what happened to his face, that I strangled him and threw him on the hard floor! They call me in for a chat, unknowing what my son had said. They then didn't talk and ask whats going on but straight away accused me of child abuse, not listening to me at all. This was extremely distressing as I held my 9 month old girl and currently being pregnant as well. They called child services, the next day they visited my son at school and asked him questions including, what did you say that the teacher (his response was 'I can't remember') and what happened, to which he told them the truth! They now want to meet with me and my partner for an assessment because they don't belive him and think we have forced him to say he fell! Surely he told the truth and that should be the end of it. He couldn't even remember the lie he told his teacher! I'm terrified they're not going to listen to us and take not only him but my baby away!

My wife and I have had social services in our lives since 09/16 cause for my stepsons fathers ringing them unstop and more recently my oldest stepson has accuse me of beating him witch has come out as a lie and just last week his little brother has done the same all of which is not true me and my wife also have 2 children together all 4 where taken into care for 24 hrs cause I lost my temper the social worker and they locked me out of my home cause I went out side to calm down so I kicked the door a couple of times they tryed to get my wife to sign a section 20 to give them the children but she said no by the time I had Calmed down I offered to move out the house so the children could stay with their mum but they still got toke them I have since moved out of the family home and the children are back home with my wife I'm aloud indirect contact with my children and stepsons and only supervised contact with my 2 my wife was told it was ok for me to look after my for about 5 hours while she worked as long as I was supervised which the children's godmothers said she would happily do now they saying I can cause my wife is not there to supervise me. I now have depression cause of all the stuff they have made us go thought which is why I lost my temper I was not told to go see a doctor by them I went of my own back to get help from the doctor and offered to move out of my home so the children can go home to mum. I just don't know what to do now I have done everything they asked and more

I am sorry to hear this and it is important for you to stay strong for your kids. However, if the social services department of your local authority (LA) consider your child is at risk of harm or in need of help, they have a duty to investigate the situation and to assess what actions should be taken to safeguard your child or promote their welfare - please see Family Lives whichIt is important to try and work alongside them and cooperate as best you can while this is being investigated. If you are feeling desperate, you may also wish to speak to someone from its helpline directly, who can offer you confidential guidance and support.

My son has autism along with severe behavioural problems and possible ADHD and ODD on top, he made an allegation to the police that his uncle beat him with a dog lead and that I stood and watched, all 3 of my children have been put in care, despite my 2 daughters 4 and 12 stating that their 13 year old brother is a compulsive liar and the incident didn't happen, somehow though my son has maintained bruises which his medical suggests that he's telling the truth, personally I think he did it to himself, the girls had medicals and both came back clear, social services still will not give me the girls back, I've had minimal contact in nearly 2 weeks and it's breaking my heart I desperately want my girls home, I've suggested the lad stays in care until he clearly gets the help needed as this is not the first time he's made these allegations, what can I do somebody please help, I'm on the verge of ending it all because I just can't cope anymore

Did the teacher falsely accused you? Or did the teacher and Social Services take precautions to protect your child? It is not clear in your comments whether the teacher accused you directly or not - therefore it is difficult to advise. Referrals to Social Services can be made by professionals who are working with your children, including schools, GPs, health visitors, and more - and it is considered as part of their job where and when there may be concern. If you think your school has accused you directly, then you should write to the school and Social Services in order to complain.

I have a three year old son he went to school on friday . Friday at threr oclock i went to pick him up from school. I noticed alot of red underneath his eye so i went to get a bump not from the teacher. I received the bump note from the teacher witch said 'bump bruise medical attention stil fit to ne in school received an ice pack' . Monday morning i droped him off to school like any othr day .Without my knowledge my three year olds teacher called social services and questioned my son . He did say mummy punched me in the eye . But the teacher did not give the social services the bump note untill 2.30 when i showed up at school . I then told them that he did have a bump note on friday witch is how he got his black eye . The teacher then looked through her file to se if she had a copy of the bump note witch was read unclear . Then social services continued to take him to the hospital to se if the black eye was fresh . The doctor said it has been there for a couple of days . But still stoped me from being at home with my son who is three . And told me to leave my own home so that i wouldnt be there . The teacher and a

I can only suggest you take legal advice. However, I'm afraid once your boys are over the age of 11, they will be listened to via the Cafcass, Social Services and the courts and will be able to specify where they wish to live and who with. This is a tricky situation and one that only a professional legal adviser can give you guidance regarding your rights.

My 15 teen year old and 12 year old have accused me of throwing them down stairs and waking them up in the middle of the night to clean the house.
Naturally family and child services were called. A woman came to my home talked with me and my grandmother and my children. Went through my home (including any thing she could open).
Sniffed my bed and went through personal information and clothing areas.
She then asked me to sign papers letting her have access to doctors school's and one blank paper just incase she needed something else access to.
She left.
Two months go by.
I decided to move from the home I'm in with my children and my oldest son loses his mind. Tells me I'm destroying his life and he's not moving into a new place with me.
A few days later a get a call from a fac working letting me know that both my sons have accused me of abuse.
I meet with a new lady from family and child services at my home again. She tells me my boys want to live with their grandmother.
Fac worker leaves telling me the file is staying open however the boys are free to come home.
The boys return home from school that day. My oldest son calls him grandmother that evening while I was at work.
Next thing I know I get home from work and my kids are gone my electronics are gone and I have a msg from my neighbor telling me my grandmother came and took the boys.
It's been 5 months since I've talked to my 12 year old and 5 months since I've seen both.
Family and child services are not allowing my boys to have contact unless it is monitored which is fine however when I call or try to set up these appointments on one returns my calls.
My oldest son is smoking weed and fighting at school now. He's talking about moving to a large city when he's 16 because facs told him he has freedom at that age....
What can I do? What should I do?
Because right now I feel like hiding forever. This is the scariest thing I've ever gone through
Please help

My ex mother in law accused me of sexual allegations with the kid's. Not my ex wife who has them?? To separate me from them when I was looking at custody of my kid's. Took me 16 months to see them, now there back in my life when I eventually made it too court after several allegations. 1 after another. My children tell me they do not want to stay with there mother and want to leave and stay with me as soon has they are legally able to decide what they want. There 8.5 yrs (2×girls)
I can link my ex to her mother and mother in law even got a police friend to sign a fast statement and counter signed by her
Best thing my kid's gave statements to social services because at a age where there not stupid. They were never examined or testimonial given to the police. Can I counter sue for damages and legal expenses and give the money to my children. I have all documents including court letter stating all false charges dropped. Also can I have social services claim against too

Hi

I am devastated and i dont know where to turn , let me start from the beginning , my middle daughter accused me and her dad of beating her up many year ago when she was 11 , shes now 18 , out of the blue we had a phone call from her freinds mum saying they had rang the police and social services because she had gone there crying saying we beat her up , her freinds family in all honestly were drug addicts and not right IMHO so we got a visit from the police who agreed that we definaly werent abusing her and they were to take no more action , but because a complaint had been made social services had to be brought in , social services came and gave me a visit and again they agreed no further action would be taken , 6 years on , my daughter tired to take an overdose and she also self harms she has told medical ppl that its because we dont love her etc , i guess she has also told her friends and ppl around her , anyway she was diagonosed with bipolar but seems to be doin quite well and were all getting along ok

Now the next dilema , her younger sister who is 12 gets bullied alot at school and afterschool , ive lost count of all the times ive had to go in to school about it , today i get a phone call and she's in tears saying can i go and get her there's a girl thats threatening to beat her up on the park ,the girl was with a large group , the girl had told her to leave the park so she did and rang us , but when she walked off the girl stopped her and said your not moving , naturally she was scared and thats why she rang us , so i got there and this girl was giving me evil looks she's only 13, so i thought im not having this im goin to confront her , so i confronted her and asked her why she was bullying my daughter , she completly denied it and said its my daughtter that started it , now im not one for beleiving everything my kids tell me , but this was a group of girls and boys some as old as 17 , my daughter is a very young 12 year old , she's like a kid compared to them i can tell just by confronting them . so i asked the girl why she was bullying , she said it was my daughter doin the bullying, ok so that explains why there's about 7 of them to my one she said she does it cause you dont care about her and you abuse her , i said pardon , she said yea thats what she tells us that you dont care and abuse her , i really dont know what to do as this girl her mum is a social worker and im terrified ppl really are goin to start believing i abuse my kids , how the hell can i clear my name , i really dont think my daughter would of said this as she's not like her middle sister i truly think this other girl is telling lies

Hi. Another request for advice/information here.
I have a Child Arrangements Order to see my (nearly 3 year old) child every week. All throughout my ex would take the fact I have depression and twist it to say that I was unstable and likely to lose my temper. She also constantly alleged I was controlling and domestically abusive, so she wanted to prevent me having anything to do with my child
As I said I now have an order to see my child, this was obtained in no small part due to three positive CAFCASS reports all saying there were no safeguarding concerns.
However as I was on my way to the contact centre this weekend I received a phone call from them saying they'd had a message that contact had been cancelled this week but they hadn't been given a reason. Ten minutes later I received a phone call from a social worker saying that there was an ongoing police investigation and they couldn't tell me any more. I've been beside myself all weekend worried that something has happened to my child and I can't get any information about it.
After calling social services on the Monday morning I was at least able to get them to confirm that there was a police investigation, however after a quick check of their files my child appeared to be ok as they could not see anything indicating they had received any hospital treatment. Beside that they were only able to tell me that they'd be speaking to my ex in a couple of days and they might be able to tell me more after that.
I have no doubt that the reason I'm not being told anything is because my ex had made another malicious allegation about me. Although I know I have done nothing to harm my child I am concerned that something has happened (why else would the police and social services be holding an investigation?) and my ex's vendetta against me will lead to her not allowing the authorities to establish the truth and as a result will mean she is not in a position to protect our child and ensure the same thing doesn't happen to them again.
The lack of information is driving me mad.
Can anyone advise me on what the police and social services are likely to be doing a situation like this, and what I can do to ensure the matter is fully investigated (after all I want to ensure our child is safe) without being dragged of track by my ex's malicious allegations?
Sorry this is such a long post. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Advice please. I have been with my partner and her 4 kids aged 9 - 14 for 7 years. Her ex is a constant problem. Social Services became involved and all the kids said daddy was trying to get them to lie, he was warned about his behaviour. I stopped a fight between the girls aged 13 and 14 and the younger said I'd kicked her. He told the Police and I was arrested. Police and CPS found me to be the victim as daughter stated she attacked me (I pushed her away with my foot ) they crimed it and wanted me to press charges, I refused. CPS said No Further Action. My partner fled Spain after years of documented abuse and he had never paid a penny for the kids. Social Services have said they don't care what the Police say, I can't remain in the house. If I do the kids go on the at risk register and if the ex applies for custody they would support it. My partner and I are both professional people. We refuse to not be in a relationship. I've moved to a property close by but cannot go to the house when the kids are there. How can this be justice and good for the children? How can this be allowed to happen? The law of this land allows me to possess firearms bur social Services say I'm a risk to my step children! It's madness.

My exwife falsly accused me of abusing my sons 5 years ago, recently I was in court for residence, which I didn't get because I hadn't had contact since the allegation (they disappeared shortly after it). My question is, can I sue, what can i sue for and how much would it cost (Cafcass and the children's solicitor suggested I Sue)...

I have included a link to Family Lives - 'a guide to what to expect if social services become involved with your family' here which should give you more information. I hope this helps.

I want to ask for advice. i was victim of domestic violence, on which i was beaten by three people while being pregnant. I've called police. i spend hours in hospital, after i was taken to save house where i spend two days. house was badly messed during the incident. My daughter was in the house to. When in save house i left pets at home, which obviously made place look worst. After two days the people were all arested and i decide to come back to my home. the socila worker saw the place in a bad state, but i was during sorting it out. She raported it to police. Now im suspect of neglect, although alredy later the day which i came back i mostly clen it up and following morning social worker vistied and was happy with stace of place. Since that i keep place clean as i use to do before the abuse. what should i do?
SeparatedDads Editor 14/09/2015 at 1:59 pm
This is always a tricky subject with no real answer I'm afraid. If there have been accusations then by rights an investigation has to be carried out, regardless of whether the accusations are unfounded or not and if not, then hopefully the investigation will uncover this. As specified in our partner article: Being Falsely Accused of Domestic Violence, whichif your partner or ex-partner accuses you of domestic violence, when you have in fact done nothing wrong, by the time the police are involved your ex has already committed a criminal offence for which they could receive a prison sentence of up to six months. If they then go on to falsify evidence to the authorities, the police, social services etc – they are then perverting the course of justice. If the case actually gets to court, and you find yourself in the dock on trial for something you haven’t done, your accuser would in most circumstances have to give evidence in court. If they are still lying at this stage, they are committing perjury. These are all serious criminal offences for which your ex-partner could serve a long prison sentence. In the meantime, if you take it to court, then the courts will always decide what is in the best interests in your children and the social worker may know that un-supervised contact would not be given while the enquiry is taking place. I hope this helps.

My wife is accusing me of beating up 2 of or 4 kids. I'm totally innocent of this. But to make matters worse my 9 year old son has backed up my wife's story. My 16, 8 and 6 year old hasn't. Yet I'm still not seen my kids for 2 months. All social worker says is "its best not to at the minute whilst the invesagation is on going". Alright for her to say that she not the one who looking at getting charged and not seeing there kids. Can anyone help with some good advice.

You don't say whether your child is with you currently, or not. However, you would have to seek professional legal advice regarding this matter. You could in the first instance try and speak to Citizens Advice, or you could try Rights of Women which has a free helpline, whichI hope this helps.
SeparatedDads Editor 10/08/2015 at 11:45 am
Custody or residency is decided upon through the courts with regards to what is in the best interests of your child and on that basis alone. Please see our partner article: Your Rights if You Win Custody of Your Children, whichwhich show you the circumstances in which residency may be granted.

Hi, Back in 2009 I had my child taken from me and my ex partner, my childs father, me at the age of 17, my ex partner being 28. Because my child had a injury that came spontaneously. After several months my ex partner admitted to two of the social services that came to our home that he caused the injury, i wasnt present when this was being said at the time also he admitted this to me which i left him. The police arrested him and later denied. After that he was let off and never came to court so that caused the judge to say that because he wasnt at court for him to challenge him then he does not know who caused the injury. Now 6 years later i have grown more wiser and more knowledge and i believe I should of got my child back considering i wasnt proven guilty. I would like for this case to be reopened and looked at again just for my future. I would appreciate anyones advice. Thanks

Hello everyone,
I would like to ask a simple thing:
I was wondering if there is any chance to get the full custody of the child if in the tribunal can be shows (also with proper documents from same institutions) that all the accuses that the mum has done toward the dad of the baby are fake, just lies that she made with the purpose to feel in the strong position and keep the dad on the leash.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I'm recently married(march '15) , I have been with my wife 4 years and she has 2 children. We all have ( had ) a happy relationship until my wife's 11 year old accused me of trying to kiss her . I was arrested and put a a 2 month bail and told I was not allowed to see any of them , contact them or visit our home ! All charges have been dropped and my wife and my mother in law even went to the police station during my bail to tell the officers my step daughter was a serial liar . Social services visited and made my wife sign a form saying her and the kids would never have a realationship with me AGAIN . Even though all charges are dropped I can still not seen them !! Is there anything I can do as me and my wife want our relationship back and my 6 year old step son was like my best friend and were both really missing each other . Someone please help us

@Sporttme - I'm afraid there is not much you can do, as once such a story has been revealed, then Social Services will think that you are backtracking in order to help your husband, or because you feel intimidated. This is why you have to be very, very careful in situations like this, as they have a habit of backfiring.
Sporttme 24/06/2015 at 4:18 pm
Hello,

Can somebody give an advice here. A week ago I was going through depression and was being angry at my husband, I spoke to our health visitor when she came to visit. I told her me and my husband had an argument last week, yelled at each other. I also told her how mean my husband. I told he have hit me in the past but never happened again after we got pregnant. He has no criminal records but then police called me and told me to call them if domestic violence going on at home. Also social services called me too saying they have to make an assessment tomorrow because my health visitor reported everything I told her. I feel bad for my husband as I now reliased everything he has done was to protect me and our newborn.

Can you pls tell me if they can arrest my husband? I told the social services I was just so angry to say all those but they are all lies. I denied everything the only thing they have is what the health visitor told them.
Also my husband never hit me, I don't have any bruises at all

Will they take my baby away from me? But if I choose to leave my husband with my baby will they still arrest my husband or bring him to court?

Thanks for advice.

Hello,
I'm currently separating from my alcoholic ex partner and had been living alone with our 5 year old lad who I cared for 3+ days a week. My ex partner is living with her Mother and they look after my son the remainder of the days. I do the school run 3 times a week and arrived to collect my son from school on Friday and was greeted by police and social services. I was informed that my son had told a teacher and another member of staff that I had kicked him in the back that morning at home which I definitely had not. I also have no idea why he should say this which is out the ordinary. I have had no contact with my son since last Friday who is now placed temporally in the care of his Mum and Nan.

I have since been interviewed under police caution where I'm told that he has a faint fingernail size bruise on his back. I pointed out that I had never ever laid a finger on him yet he also has several other bruises up his arms/legs/thighs from just being a typical boy. The Police are happy with what I have told them and no further action will be taken from their side but I will now not be able to have contact my son for a further 15 day until Social services have drawn their own conclusions. Given the current situation with me and his Mum this is particularly difficult for me.

My lad is from a good home, doing really well at school and is clearly not being abused. I fully understand that school/police/social services are just doing their job but I'm shocked that this situation has escalated so quickly solely through the words my child alone. There seems to have been very little investigation into why he should say these things or the size/shape/age of the bruise in question which could be from anywhere. How can the school not have a modicum of common sense and speak to the parents first rather that go completely overboard with police and social services. I did have the attitude that I have done nothing wrong so have nothing to worry about yet I now feel heartbroken that Social Services can just remove my rights to be a father to my son over something that I just didn't do.
:(

@Lauraj2 - I'm afraid I cannot answer this question as it is very much dependent upon circumstances and how your son and ex testify to the event. You will have to take the advice from your solicitor, who will instruct you on the best course of action to take.

Hi looking for some advice I disciplined my child a few weeks back which his dad new about last week we had an arguement and he sent me a tex message saying he is gawna do everything he can to get my son took away from me this is all over the head of 20 which I asked him to half for my sons trainers. Many thanks for that. The link was very useful. It's awful being falsely accused of neglect and abuse and it's awful seeing it on court papers. It's so sad that both men and women feel the need to do this and to try and punish the other parent, often using the child as a weapon. My little one is my life and is always my priority and everyone that knows me will agree. It's important for every child to have a relationship with both parents (unless there are genuine serious concerns about the safety and welfare of the child when in the care of one of the parents) but using bullying tactics and making false accusations is not the right way to go about getting what you want.
SeparatedDads Editor 11/06/2015 at 11:31 am
@Rach - I am sorry to hear this and you must be understandably worried. I have included a link: Guide to Court 3: False Allegations, Cafcass & Representing Yourself here which I hope will help. One thing in your favour is that courts are familiar with dealing such allegations, and it may shock you to find out this happens frequently, so hopefully Cafcass and the courts will see these allegations for what they are.

My ex walked out just over 6 mths ago and decided to come out as gay. His behaviour has been odd and eratic and there have been reports of him drinking lots and possibly doing drugs. People say he looks ill and acts really oddly. He's turned into a compulsive liar and has had random contact with our now 1 year old son. He failed to turn up for our sons birthday. When our son has been in his care he's often come back with dirty nappies or he's been very hungry and thirsty. He's also now on 5 occasions ended up with tummy upsets within 24 hours of being in his care. I've been advised to stop contact pending social worker help however today I have received court paperwork and he wants sole residency claiming that I am an unfit mother and the allegations against me are horrific. I can't believe a solicitor would even agree to state such allegations on a legal document. I'm devastated and don't know what to do about it. The police have been involved for domestic abuse and the whole situation is just a nightmare. So scared I will lose my little boy based on his false allegations.

Hi just wondered if I could get any advise me and my partner as a daughter together and recently moved in together. 3 months ago an alagation was made to socail services that my partner and physically harmed his other son though previous girlfriend. Well socail came out and said it was fine and no further action but yet the next day socail picked the children up for school and took them for a medical at the hospital within that day socail told my partner they won't remove his 2 children from the previous relationship but yet lied to him and tool kids away in their mothers care. The police was called and my partner has his interview and let go now today they came back out and said they are going to caution him. Now I'm very concerned about our daughter. Socail services as already failed to their job as they should off done a risk assessment 24 hours they took the children the a core assessment 35 days later and another assessment 7 days after witch they haven't done but no as he's got a caution have we got anything to worry about

My husband was arrested last week for apparantly punching his 16 year old son in the eye. His son made this allegation back in march but however it has taken two months for social workers and police to follow this through. This is not true as my husbands son was not in our care the week this incident was suppose to have taken place!! We have photos (from FB) which we gave the police of no black eye within the period this incident was suppose to happen and many witnesses who have not seen this black eye!! Obviously my husband n I are so upset n can't understand why he had made this up. My husband has been told he's not allowed any contact with our 1 year old twins unless supervised! My husband has not seen our twins for 8 days now as the social workers have not replied to my phone calls and messages. The police have been good regarding this however they can only do so much. A false allegation from my step son has left our whole family in limbo, totally upset and extremely concerned about my husbands future and our beautiful twins. Doesn't seem fair as my husbands not violent, extreme generous n caring. I feel he has made this allegation as he doesn't have his own way. Is this a common situation?

Hello

I am asking ref what I can do to overcome the torment of being falsely accused of raping a child. In 2010 my friends son had falsly accused me and his father of raping him in 2006.
At the time I was working in Dubai and my wife at the time received a letter from my friends solicitor asking if I would appear in court as a witness as his father was being charged. However shortly after this allegation my wife was diagnosed with terminal cancer and I was unable to attend the hearing as I was busy looking after my wife.and 2 kids.

However on the first day of the case the judge threw out the case and released his father without charge he was found not guilty. I thought the case was over and that I would hear the last of this crazy false allegation. The sleepiness nights the worry and stress and all this on top of my wife's illness was really starting to take its toll on me.Also I had to finish my job because all my ex workers knew about this trial and I was also accused by them and called lots of terrible names I was unable to focus on my job I had lost almost everything. My wife died in 2011 4 months after the allegation.

Then just as I was starting to get some normality in my life the police then in 2014 arrested me at home accusing me of the same alleged crime,I had all my possesions taken lap top camera etc. I was then locked in a police cell and my son 16 at the time was at home alone. after being interviewed I was placed on bail.During this time I later discovered the police went back to the house and started interviewing my son and asking him intrusive questions all this without an adult being present.

After aprox 2 months my solicitor phoned and send that the police had said no charges are to be brought.

My daughter at the time was living with my sister and social services were involved etc with all the usual exaggerated hype.

My solicitor I feel was not very good with the advice he gave me but because I had lost my job I had no money to pay for another I had to go along with what I was given.

This has been a terrible traumatic time for both me and my family while I suffer probably the rest of my life this individual walks free having devastated my family and destroyed everything that I worked for.
Following this and the ongoing trauma and allegations I asked for help but I had to wait almost 5 months to see a psychiatrist as I was having thoughts of ending everything.

The person walks free having devastated my family wasting hundreds of thousands of pounds and not to mention the amount of police time and perverting the course of justice. But what I have found is that their is very little help and support for victims of these type of malicious life changing allegations the British justice system in my opinion is biased and inconsistent. I never even received an apology from the police or any explanation why charges were brought against me.

I often wake up at night thinking that the police are coming for m

@ANON - It is unfortunate that you have been dragged into this unwittingly. As specified in the article, although this might seem shocking, a considerable number of referrals to Social Services are not investigated at all because they are deemed to be without merit. Many false allegations are made by mothers who desire to gain the upper hand in a family law case. FASO may be able to help you with support and direction as it is a voluntary organisation that offers clear information, practical advice, and emotional support to anyone affected by false allegation of abuse. You can access its website via whichI hope this helps.

My fiancee and his ex have a little girl, she stopped him having contact 7 months ago and has accused him of abusing his daughter, social services are involved and the police have decided that the allegation isn't worth their time (lies in otherwords) my problem is I am being dragged into their mess now as I have been told by social services that an allegation has been made against me. This has absolutely nothing to do with me and my name is being blackened over a child that isn't even mine. The past 7 months has put a huge strain on me and my fiancee and she keeps turning the knife. Can she legallly get away with these lies and is there anything I can do to stop them?
Ben Editor 26/03/2015 at 2:45 pm
@Matt - I am sorry to hear this and as upsetting as this may be you will hear soon. In the meantime you need to keep well away from your ex and do not contact her under any circumstances in order not to give her ammunition to make further allegations about you before the courts.
Matt 24/03/2015 at 11:14 am
I have been granted a Child Arrangement order in October 2014. This is not being adhered to by my ex-wife. All contact has now been stopped because of accusations against me of drinking & driving with my kids which is a complete fabrication by my ex wife. I filled in a c79 and submitted an enforcement order. This was three weeks ago. I have now been stopped from talking to my two children 6 & 11 years on the phone as they were getting upset and asking for me. My son (6) has shown deterioration in his behaviour at school & my heart is breaking that I cannot now see or hear them. On Friday evening I asked the police to do a "welfare check" on my children as I was worried where they were as their mother drinks. The police treated me as a criminal and told me that "the mother had denied any court order being in place and that I had ruined my ex-wife's & new partners evening" I am in despair. How long does it take for the court to recognise the breach of a court order. I have sent evidence with my application to court and also additional evidence. Does anybody on here know an approx time the courts take to deal with "enforcement of court order". I am at my wits end". Any advice would be really helpful. Thank you in advance.
SeparatedDads Editor 23/03/2015 at 10:19 am
@None - I am sorry to hear this and as specified in the article, false accusations are not uncommon where one partner (and that goes for relations also) is looking for ways to 'punish' the other. Are you on good terms with your ex? Can you have a chat to her and get her to back you up? You don't say whether Social Services has been involved, so it is difficult to give further advice, apart from getting some legal advice. Family Lives may also be able to help, if you can speak to one of its advisors regarding the best course of action whichI hope this helps.

I have serious concerns about My Daughters mum, her mum is continually making serious false allegations when she can't get her own way, saying to her doctor, school and social services that Ive brusied my daughter, This women is sick in her head!! why didn't she contact me straight away, as I would like to know where these bruises have come from, (she's got something to hide) and why didn't she call the police? (She's got something to hide)
JJ Editor 12/03/2015 at 2:31 pm
@Rob - there's nothing really that can be done or advised upon, Social Services will presumably investigate this and then decide whether the reports were founded or not.
Rob 10/03/2015 at 8:15 pm
I have just got access to my son through the courts and my ex has a new partner, my son has made a claim that her new partner had grabbed him which has left a mark on his arm, I took a photo and reported it to social services as after talking it over with my ex left me suspicious, any advice would be grateful.

@Ct1980 - the only thing you can do is go through the system and hope that Cafcass and the courts see through the lies. On the plus side, the courts are aware of the lies that go on in court. You need to keep your head, keep sensible and rational and prove that you are not the monster she is making you out to be. It's a tough road, but hopefully it will work out in your favour.

Hi i went through a long and messy divorce which finally finished a few months ago.I had an affair & my wife eventually found out and it broke her heart. We have 3 lovely boys aged 17,14 and 11 which ive not seen now for nearly 2 years now as they have well and truely been turned against me (there Dad). When my ex eventually filed for divorce she turned very nasty she wouldnt talk to me at all, everything had to go through the Solicitors, she kepted holding things up,dragged it all through the Courts and also lied in court about me,acusing me of strangling one of my sons about an incident what supposedly happened about a year before her accusation and ended up getting an order put on me for a year without any proof so i couldnt go within 100 yards of her or the family home.Which didnt help me trying to have contact with my kids. This was a woman who was very friendly and would of done anything for anyone before all this happened, how can someone who was so nice and friendly turn so spiteful and evil by lying in court about me and turning my own 3 kids against me(there own Dad) its discusting how someone can get away with it.I feel i have no rights as a Dad and feel my hands are tired.Ive struggled to move on from all this and feel very angry and bitter towards my ex wife now because of all the lies and that my own 3 kids have been turned against me.Regarding having contact with my kids.I was told by my useless Solicitor that my kids are all old enough to decide what they want weather they want to see me or not.I have been made to look like a monster when im not.Because of all this i now live with my parents at 43 as ive struggled to move on with my life and got no emphusiasom to do anything anymore.Do i have any rights as a Dad? Because it dont feel like it! And can anyone give me any advice?

I have a question:
Short story is:
Was falsely accused by my x-wife back in 2004 of "inappropriately touching the children"
Her affidavit went on and was mainly lies although sounded by part truths.
Reason I believe as was also stated in own affidavit was her own child hood having separated parents and also her own inept abilities to connect with them. She showed problems before marriage naming her childhood up-bring as why she acted the way she did. I felt sorry for her and tried to help and next is history. Hot married had three children two now over 18yrs one 15yrs old still in school.
Before marriage I worked hard and obtain a great deal of wealth and believe this is while she made false allegations to gain the assets and punish me by keeping the children away from me.
Contacted my second daughter aged 19yrs that appeared to be suffering from anorexia, helped her and now after 5 mths looks good. She asked if she could take action from what has happened to her. "hospitalized for alcohol poisoning", compertition with sister see how can sleep with most guys in one night aged 16yrs. Forced to pay 200 dollars a week bored then put up to 250 to get her out.
Here through her that her sister now 15yrs is going to be forced out as soon as she finishes school.
She said what she has done was effects of her mother from 2004. She now doesn't want her own children due to me being kept away from her. She stopped work as saw that if she earns money and saves what happened to me could happen to her.
Has any offspring/child that has been effected by parental alienation gone back to court for damages?
Still these allegation hurt me today. My reply to her was seeing her sister still lives with mother and is at important time in her life with school that she shouldnt take mother but the people that were inplace to protect them such as family services, family court, legal aid, police and so on.
Lots I have not stated as wanted to try to be short and straight.

here is my story so far... on May 23rd of 2014 I was arrested for the "investigation" of child rape and stuff, I was NOT read my rights, I was REFUSED my medication (they wer brought to me the night before I was transfered to another police/jail station) I was REFUSED my 1 phone call and I was REFUSED any lawyer untill the next day... ever sence my release, i was NOT investigated, i have NO knowlage about my case and just today i was recieved a letter saying DCF wants my name in the CACN without questioning me about anything about my case before i been found guilty or not... i have babysat these kids for 2 years and just out of the blue the kid says i touched him/her... 1 of them i started watching since after the mothers 6 month leave and the other was before potty train, not to mention another man has touched him/her and has proven the other man has... all my rights wer violated... the parent have known me for over 7 years, i have only been alone with 3 kids and one of them was my sister cuz i had to babysit her for 3 years, i have no criminal record, i have physical and mental disablities... does people think i will win my case? I WOULD NEVER TOUCH ANY CHILD IN THAT WAY

I was accused of assault on handicap and misdemeanor child abuse on my son. I absolutely did not spank my baby. I been trying to find a way to prove my innocence but haven't came across anything until today. As I was reviewing the report from dss I noticed that the person who reported me reported the bruises on my son on December 6th but my arrest paperwork says the offense occurred on December 8th. I picked my son up for the weekend on December 6 and returned him on December 8. So how can someone report me for abuse two days before the alleged abuse? Does anyone think this will win my case?

I need advice my granddaughter 4 back last year had spent time with her dad and came back with a red Mark on the back of her legs we thought it was eczema 3 to 4 days later a bruise started fforming and it looked like a straight line across the backs of her legs to me it looked like shed been hit myself and my daughter were mming and arhing what to do for abt a week or so my daughter asked me to contact social services which I did as we didn't know what else to do they in turn told her it wasn't possible for bruising to last 2 weeks and blamed her since this my grandson 6 says he's bn punched in the stomach and my granddaughter had a discharge in her pants and said she was itchy she was taken to the doctors and she hit him and wouldn't let him look at her and freaked out he asked a specialist to look at hermy daughter was accused of making it up but she told me who touched her with his hands again my daughter was called a liar dad went for full custody and lost but social services stood in court and wanted dad to have full custody even though they know he takes drugs the kids have been put on the at risk register not from the dad but my daughter even though she hasn't done anything she has been treated really unfairly for trying to protect her cchildren she's being treated like a ccriminal she had enough and rang the police when my grandson said he'd been punched in the stomach again when they came out we let him talk alone to the 2 officers he told them he'd been hit so had granddaughter and taken to a drug dealer described everything they did there and apparently used words he'd obviously heard but the social worker who was there said he'd been ccoached and yet again my daughter has been called a liar and I am at my wits end as they are brought to mine Ssunday eve when they come home and I am witness to some if not all of what they have told my daughter but the children are not being listened to at all even after a video interview with the police where after 7 months its come out dad hit her with a belt according to social services my daughter is making it all up and because she had 5 social workers in 7 months we complained about one as she was shouting at my daughter in front of the baby they say she has complained about every social worker which is not true who do we turn to when social services are against a woman who is trying to protect her kids and is called a liar who do we turn to when the police believe a social worker that is also lying to cover her own back back

To anyone who is accused and arrested of any charges, especially for such serious allegations as child abuse. DO NOT MAKE A STATEMENT TO POLICE!!!!!!! You do not have any obligation legally to make a statement to police. If you are arrested say nothing and contact your lawyer. My partner was recently accused of such horrible allegations and the police tried to trick him into making a statement, but he contacted his lawyer and the lawyer says, making a statement to police is ONLY to help the police with getting their facts straight for the prosecution to build a case against you!!!!

So please, contact a lawyer before you say anything!!!!!

i need abit help, also i need peoples advice and opinions. i got wrongly accused of child abuse about 3 years ago as a result in this my son was adopted. what happened was, it was april 2012 and it was just a normal day, i was lyin on the sette with my 6month old son, in the night garden was about to start and my son had a little stir so i put him in his crib for a nap, i went on the kitchen and was doing bottles, my ex partner went in the bedroom picked my son up and he was screamin, me ex partner then came in the sitting roomand my sons arm was floppy and i couldnt understand this i thought i was seeing things, i rang an ambulance and waiting 15mins before they arrived this was a awful and terrifyin experience for my son, i went in the ambulance and went to hospital they done an exray and found out he had a spriral fracture i was shocked and i froze i cudnt understand how this had happened, i waiting for social services and the police all by myself while my ex partner laid in bed asleep. i told them all i new and then i went home, the next day the social worker came and told me they had done a body exray, then he also told me he had fractures to his ribs, fibia and skull which are all different time scales. i dropped to my knees i didnt think it was real, me and my partner then got arrested i was fightin for a long time i wasent blamin my partner as i had not witnessed any voilance against my child and nor had he witnessed anything from me, i didnt no what to do i was really scared, so it was a day before i was about to stand up in court and i broke down to my ex partner and said how can i stand up in court and have no explanation why my son was hurt he said i should make a story up and say i was frustrated and picked my son up the wrong way obiously i was so low at the time and i went along with his story i didnt get found guilty for the other injuries nor did he as people had looked after my son, now because i dont a stupid thing by pleadin guitly to something i never done i got 7 month in prison and my ex partner got a walk it still kills me to this day and i dont no wether my ex partner had something to do with it, im depressed and can hardly get through my day, if anyone is willing to give me sum advice could you please email me, im re-openin the case and just wondering if i can do this ?

my story how i have been wrongly of child accused

on the 6th of April i took my 6 month old baby girl
to Birmingham children's hospital about a non blanching
rash on her arm witch was like a line of a broken
blood vessel under the skin she also had a 2 bruises on
her face one witch was by her cheek bone and the other in between
her eyes above her nose 1 bruise on her belly witch is
from where i have massaged her belly as she suffers form constipation
has done from birth so because of the bruises they had to do a full
x-ray of my baby while doing these investigation's they found 2 fractured fibs
thourt she had a fracture on her left tibia but another x-ray did not confirm
this they also saw a abnormality on her temples so sent her for a CT scan
then a Mir because they thourt that there was fluid of blood on her brain
the mri showed that this was not true and her temples are different shape
and size they have did a vitamin d test on her she dose not have that
so back to the fractured fibs the police social worker and doctor came
to see me and my partner father of my children to ask us do we know how
the baby
has these injury's so i explain the bruises and i cant explain
how the fractures
happened because i don't no nor dose my partner we think of some things
that could of happened for her to have this like how i fell over with her
dad dropped
her older sister hit her with play guitar they said non of these could of did
these so were puzzled because if it cant be sum thin iv done then what
has happen to
her the social services took the children of us and put them in to there nans
care dads mother at a child protection meeting on the 29th April they put
the eldest
child back in to my care but kept the youngest at nans still when
i asked
why because im a risk so while my youngest has been staying at her nans iv
been going there
the baby has had more bruises on feet belly and mouth tried getting in touch with
the social worker to tell her all this but she wasn't in the office and her mobile
was off the nan was also letting her daughter smoke around my baby witch i wasn't happy
with sp i told the nan i was telling them that i wanted her moved from there but by time the social worker
rang me last Tuesday she said there would be a meeting on Friday about the kids
then on Wednesday the police turn up at my house and remove my eldest from my care
they had already took the youngest from the nan as she has now made a allegations that i
have shuck my baby what do people think of this tell me your views bad or good

Ok so my brothers wife kicked him out of the home a year ago and she decided a few months back to take him to court for custody and got CPS involved who said it was indicated that he abused or maltreated his girls. But when she first kicked him out he was not aloud to see the girls because of her. And now it is a court order that I supervise so how can they say he did something to his kids when he never had them?

Hi My son's 3 girls were interviewed by Cafcass 10 mins each the eldest wants nothing to do with him produced a book saying he had hit her??? He split from their mother 4 years ago and whenever the mother wanted a weekend away with a bloke he looked after them. In fact whenever he had the chance as they did get on in a way that was good for the kids. When she met and then moved in a boyfriend things changed and not for the better. My granddaughter started going out with the boyfriend a lot she is just gone 11, she started calling her Daddy by his first name. Before this she was always with him and me we had a very close and loving , she no longer wants to have anything to do with any of our family ( we have a large family) she told Cafcass she never wants to see her Daddy again. So much Brainwashing has gone on with her and it has broken our hearts, everyone is shocked that she has made up lies ( none said before the boyfriend moved in nothing mentioned at the first court hearing)but suddenly when Cafcass were to pay a visit all these things have been said about him. Cafcass said there is nothing they can do because she is 11 now and knows her own mind, really she knows that she has lost a great Daddy. I cannot explain to you how we feel how lost we are and there is no one to listen to the truth. I could write a book about how from Daddy collecting his girls for the weekend for the past 4 years has been wiped away in 10 mins. I would strongly urge men to read about Alienation and Brainwashing, you will be surprised to realize this is what is happening to you

My question is that my sister 45and i am 22yrs old i have one daughter she only a year i was seriously falsely accused of abuse and neglect of my daughter by my sister. There hasn't been no evidence of abuse and or neglect at the time the truth is my sister kidnapped my daughter age 2 months old hasn't been in my care for 11months , can my sister go to prison for perjury of false accusation.

my sister got out of an abusive relationship a year ago ever sincr her x has continuously made allegations that she is abusing there 2 year old son. The matter has been in and out of court over the last year, the judge had no concens and awarded herfull custody with her x having weekend access. However last weekend her x contacted social services and yet again accused her of hitting thirr son,he wastaken to hosp and examined, my sister was informed but was not allowed to see him.the next day they were in court and her x was granted custody, there were no pictures of the alleged bruising that was inflicted and no one even said where the bruise was. Her solicitor did not do anything to help her.we are all worried because we have witnessed the abuse she suffered while she was with him. The ss are on his side completely ( his sister in law works for ssppp I suspect there is something not right. Wat can we do?

My son's girlfriend is pregnant. My son is 32 and responsible. At the age of 17 she had a child from a previous relationship She is now 20 years old, The parents separated when the child was 9 months old then they shared custody of their child. October 2013 the father's parents took the child to a doctor/specialist and the child was diagnosed with malnutrition Social Services was contacted. Social Services investigated and last month my son and his girlfriend were told that she has the mentality of a 12 yr old, which I don't agree with, and that Social Services would take this baby unless they lived with us and I supervise the care of the baby, with monthly visits from Social Services for a year. If I'm home I don't see the need to have SS at my house every month. Myself and my husband raised two boys with no visits from SS. I had a meeting with Social Services last month and I was also told that she can only spend 2 hrs with her first son unsupervised until he's 5 yrs old. Will this be the case with my son's newborn? I think this is a bit extreme. I interact with her everyday and I don't agree with what SS is putting this young girl through. I think at the age of 17 she lacked experience and support from both families.

Husband charged with child abuse of gross negligence because he seized out and dropped our three month old. We racked our brains trying to recall anything that had happened. The baby rolled off a bed 12 inches from the floor onto toys of his brothers, dss swore that couldn't have done it. His big brother one day was pushing his tonka truck around and he put it on coffe table, next thing my husband hears a loud thump and the baby starts crying. He runs in the room and the truck is beside the babies head. My husband picks the baby up and within a few minutes baby stops crying. Was told that couldn't cause a skull fracture. We wondered for months what could have happened, until finally one night my husband woke up in the middle of the night crying he had finally remembered what had happened. He had remembered going to get the baby from crying and waking up his older brother(he's 1 1/2 years old). He remembered coming out of the door and everything else blurred out. He said when he came to the baby was laying on the floor next to him and weren't even crying. He checked him out and he seemed fine. He ran into other room where the older child was sleeping and he was still asleep. We both were arrested for child abuse but they dropped my charges cause they said they knew I didn't do it. I have nothing on me and they were looking for reunification with both of us but one judge didn't believe my husbands story and that's with 3 local doctors and a neurologist diagnosing him with epilepsy. I even called a quits with my husband cause my children are more important than anything and dss and the gal were using the fact I was still with my husband against me. My husband and myself have children from previous relationships and they did background checks and everything and came up empty handed. This happened in July 2011 and I'm still fighting them to give me my boys back. It's crushed my husband cause he's been convicted of something that he had no control over and we've lost so much time from watching out boys grow up.

To prove lies by your wife in the family law / divorce court in her unsworn evidence (either verbal and/or written statement) is perjury use Evidence (Proceedings in Other Juristictions) Act 1975 as inserted into Section 1A of Perjury Act 1911 which requires minimum of two witnesses that a statement or statements are perjury

well i fined the judges system corners men in to pleading guilty ,I told then the truth of the argument about what happened, but because of the statement that my ex had made ,that i have mentality abused her and my son ,and threaded my wife with a knife ,,the barrister told me to plead guilty or get 3 years in prison ,but if you don't take to a trial you can get 12 months prison sentence for something i have not done ,either way i was going in prison for something i have not done ,and i was in the local papers, and my reputation was humiliated to the point that i don't go out much ,she has put a none molestation order on me to not in any shape of form contact my ex and my son ,and its destroying my life ,i have a criminal record for life ,my family have blanked me and most of my friends ,i have about 3 people in my life if that ,i have lost my personal belongings because my ex put a court order on the house not to go in a 100 yards of the house ,so i could not go and get my personal things and the things that i was given on the list of items that my ex was meant to give me and did not get any of them ,all i got out of the marriage, was 4 black bin-liners of cloths and another bag of mine with bits and bobs ,and a few quick in settlement ,i feel that the judges system ,is wrong ,when you tell your statement it should be looked at to the other side of the party and work it out who is telling the truth ,i have lost my my dignity to live most days ,because of the my ex putting my picture on the front page of the local and other area's of the the place i lived as a child ,where i was liked and trusted as a person ,use to have a laugh ,and know i am the the little man in the corner ,its been sole destroying ,i have got a letter of the judge explaining i can write to my son ,but my ex as told her solicitor's not to except mail of me ,,because her solicitor's e,mail me saying the case is closed ,so i can not send mail to her ,so that i can write to my son ,like the judge said i could ,can any body out there help me give me some advise please thank you

I need help or advice very quickly. I am in a situation where my daughter is now telling doctors that her dad is hitting her in the head on visitations. I had to baker act my 9 yr old daughter on saturday because she tried to smother a dog and try to kill it. She even went to the extent of hiding it after she was done. I had to put her in a behavior unit for 5 days. She is telling me that her dad is hitting her so the hospital called dcf in florida and let them know of the abuse. I have primary custody and he sees her every other weekend. She is also telling me that when he is with other women he is hitting them and being very mean to them. She is also video taping the abuse on her ipod but the grandmother made her erase it. The hospital told me that she is expressing her anger and letting it out on others and animals. They also said that her dad does not need to see her now. Here is my problem now i have tried to contact dcf and let them know he has a visittion on friday and my daughter is begging me not to go because she is terrified. What can i do to help my daughter and can she speak to a judge to tell him what he is doing to her. What advice or what can i do to prevent this on friday. When i was married for 15 years he abused me and so i believe my daughter when she tells us this. She is 9 and i need to protect her from him. please any help

My friend has three children all under the age of ten. Her eldest son has ADHD, mild form of autism. Whilst at school her son had fallen splitting his gums. She was contacted & immediately took him to A.E. after returning home after a traumatic day for mother & son a police officer called to their home informed her she had to return to the hospital. She did this her children was taken from her & examined for possible child abuse. They had said they had concern issues due to over a period of times her son had been taken to a.e. Her son had managed to get into the locked drug cabinet taken prescription drugs & given them to his youngest sister. He continues to have accidents also at school however is terrified to go to hospital if serious injury occurs. She has received a letter informing her of her eldest being examined in school with pediatric nurse. & health worket Also her other children being examined with pediatric nurse & health worker. The poor woman is beside herself. All three children are very confident speak their minds. Very affectionate towards their family. Energetic constantly on the go.

I've recently been abandoned by my family, due to my 6 year old stepson suddenly deciding that I don't love him and I'm 'not nice' to him, and going and telling both his father and his teacher about it! Now I'll be the first to admit that we don't have the greatest relationship because he is hyperactive, loud and disobedient, and I do get annoyed, but I don't hit him, throw things at him or any of the usual that I would consider abuse, I just tell him off when it is warranted and honestly his behaviour has improved massively since he went to school. So you can imagine my surprise last week when my wife came home from work and said the school had hauled her in and told her that unless he was removed from the 'situation!(?) they would involve social services. This is of real concern as we also have a 3 year old daughter(ours), so we could risk losing both. So she's now moved to her parents, I see my daughter once a week and my wife once a week on a 'date night'! It's only been a few weeks but I feel completely alone and I don't understand what has triggered this! We were on holiday only a few weeks before and he was ok, and for about a week before the accusations I only saw him once because I've been working late to provide for my family, and we spoke at length about digging a garden pond and I was asking him where he thought we should put it, then this happens! To make it worse we're trying to get into counselling to figure out where it's come from and as per usual they haven't even replied to tell us if we can have it! I hate this! I have the distinct impression his father has put him upto it, as he's always hated me(feeling is mutual!) and he is a manipulator.

Hi, this is a tricky one and im sorry for the long winded story that I am about to say but I cant think of a shorter one.when I was younger me and my younger sister experimented as some children do. yes I know it should never ever of happened but it did and there is nothing I can do to change this now :( i met up with my ex wife in 2000 we started to be very good friends at first then things just seemed to happen we got married in 2002 and it was the best day in our lives loads and loads of tears of happiness for most that turned up. amazing day we had our first son in out 2003. and had a daughter in dec 2004 wasnt planned but vould never change the fact that we had 2 beautiful children.in june 2006 her 12 year old sister accused me of touching her and I got questioned and DNA taken finger prints and they had no evidence to say that I did but then they had nothing to say I didnt. we later found out that her dad put her up to this all because I took my ex wife from the family home!! in july 2006 we had another daughter and in march 2008 another son. everything was going so so well there was a friend of my ex wifes staying over cause of my daughters birthday in dec 2008 and me and her always had a bit of banter I sent her a stupid text saying do you want to meet me down stairs I had no intention of going down or doing anything with her because I was a married man. in the morning she showed the message I sent to my ex wife who has now told her dad about this and he came over and ordered me out of the family home and he punched me in the face. I called the police and had him arrested for what he had just done to me. just as I was about to leave the police station after I had given them my statement another office came in and read me my rights saying that I have been accused of attempted to rape my wife! I was devastated and gob smacked stunned ive never in my life done anything like this to any one. I got sent to prison on remand hated every second of it. got made to move out of the area that I lived in and was put on trial for attempted rape. the jury only took a couple of hours to find me not guilty as there was nine discrepancy's in her statement in 2011 I sent a letter to my children asking how they all are and just to let them all know that daddy loves and misses them all and I never stop thinking about them. I had her solicitor call me and said that there is going to be a court date for residency of my children because she is saying that I have touched my older two children this killed me to think that anyone that knows me says im nothing like that. i moved back to the area in jan 2012 because of the court date was in june and needed to see my solicitor about it all. I then met up with a school friend that we used to go to junior school together back in the 80's and we just hit it off. we didnt plan anything just friends I told her about my past and she says that she can see im nothing like everyone is saying and how much it hurts

I have been to a meeting ie a chat with social services and was informed that my wife has put forward that I have been verbally domesticly violent on the telephone and then was told that the social worker was there at her place of work listening to me raging at her. The social worker didnt appear to show any concern as to me being valued as a parent and insisted that I get a court order to see my kids as I apparently threatened to take the kids with me during previous arguments. My wife has said to me that she wants to go to court to get it in black and white for me to see the kids. All this seems abit strange as I was the one whom was experienceing domestic violence watching my wife break the home up and threatening to comitt suicide on numerous occassions. Please note when my wife first left me after aweek she then came back to reconcilliate with me but suuddenly had a change of behaviour and left again. I then became really down and took an overdose. All this was before I had a little chat with social services.

Last year, I watched my friend's 4 year old for a few hours; it was uneventful and he was well behaved. A couple of days later, the kid, his mother, a couple mutual friends were hanging out at her home and the child said "Paula, don't hit me." His mother replied "did Paula hit you?" And gave me a funny look. I was really taken aback; nothing ever came of it (maybe she questioned him further and realized it wasn't true) but I was never comfortable around them after that.A couple of weeks ago I was watching my little cousin (also a 4 year old boy) while his mom cleaned the room across the hall; he was kind of jumping around the around the room while I checked my emails. At one point, I licked my dry lips to moisten them and he pointed and said "Eww, Paula, you.licked me." Now, presumably, he meant to say "licked your lips" or maybe he thought it'd be funny to say "me", but can you imagine how much trouble I'd be in if he repeated that to someone? The problem with these kinds of comments or accusations is that, even if it's revealed that the child lied or was trying to get attention, there's a shadow of suspicion that lingers around you. Nothing came of these two incidents but, I've learned to put a healthy distance between myself and people's kids and I never agree to watch people's children. It might sound extreme and it might put off some of my friends and family to know that I won't watch their children but, it's better than being accused of something you didn't do by some brat who wants to play games.

Hi poppy the self same thing has happened to my husband as a result of a disgruntled ex and sister of my husband. What concerns me is that incriminating evidence substantiating the accusers of malicious intent to pervert the course of justice , Stalking and harassment by the accusers over a 4 year period ( provided to the police) continues to be dismissed despite Children's Services Closing the case one month into police investigation and referrals. It is little comfort that his solicitor working on a pro bono basis makes assurances that there is no case to answer. What concerns me is that the related evidence suggests the primary accuser is mentally unstable in the solicitors words a psychopath and a danger to society as a whole in particular those she perceives to have rejected her continues to go unaddressed by the police or Children's Services. It is my husband who is the victim here. I believe the police have a vested interest to prolong the investigation. All parties share one common denominator (Me the Wife) a justified complainant relating to police malpractice & corruption substantiated by several sources and the woman/whore the source of the perceived rejection, jealousy and envy.

My advice is seek legal representation as soon as.

I am a foster parent who has been falsely accused of leaving my 2 year old and 10 month old foster kids in the car. I did run in to the store but the 2 babies were in the car with my biological 17 year old daughter. They do not believe my 17 year old was in the car because the woman who called CPS, said she was not in the car. (she is a volunteer for CPS-we do not care for each other, never have.) I have been licensed thru CPS for 3 years. I have had 17 placements in my home. I am GREAT foster mom. Yet I am being treated like a criminal. They are taking my license and charging me with neglect...but as of today-4 days into this - they have not removed the foster kids, they said maybe next week sometime. That shows you that they don't actually think I am neglecting anyone!!!

PLEASE HELP ME. I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE TO TURN. I CAN NOT ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN--THE FALSE ACCUSATORS AND THE POWER HIGH CPS INVESTIGATORS HAVE TO BE STOPPED.

Hi there. I'm hoping someone is still out there that can read this and offer advice! 5 weeks ago my daughter and I returned home after having lunch to a social worker from child protection services at her door. This worker stated that my daughters 6 year old son had a severe hand injury and pretty much accused my daughter of doing it. Told her they were taking her son to the ER to see a Dr and she needed to come. We went to the school, picked him up and went to the ER, where a police offer was waiting :( After hours of waiting, the x-rays came back.no way of knowing when the injury occured, where, or how long he had the injury. The police wanted to interview him. We went to the police dept and they took him into a room with 2 police officers and an investtigator. Apparently he told his teacher and the police interview that his mommy kicked his hand. My daughter would not ever touch her children and was also interviewed for 4 hours. She offered to do a lie detector, but was not able as she was pregnant. He has now changed his story many times. but they think she did it based ONLY on what this 6 yr old boy said. I thought in order to convict, they need to have a witness? They need to know when, where, how the injury occured and know without doubt that the accused did the crime? They do not have any of this. My grandchild all live with me now while we wait for court on these charges. Am I wrong in assuming there is something wrong with this picture? My daughter never even raises her voice to her children and would never hurt her children.so this whole this is just devistating to all of us. any advice?

against corruption 02/11/2012 at 7:12 am
I am a mother to 4 children, an 8 year old, 5 year old twins and 8 month old baby. My first 3 children are to my ex who i was with for 12 years. After years of domestic abuse (he has charges for assaulting me) and his drinking and social drug taking became more noticeable to our children I decided to leave him. He seemed ok with the seperation at the start but he continued to sleep on the couch in my house. I started seeing another man eventually but kept it all quiet as it was early days and i didnt know how he would react but he eventually found out and hit the roof he took the children, went to MY family who hated him and said I had thrown him out with the kids as i didnt want them, told them i had a drink and drug problem (i dont drink and have never taken drugs). My family were horrifified and "helped" him keep the kids from me, hiding them in diff houses etc but after a couple weeks i tracked them down at my grandparents, i walked in and picked my little girl up and was then attacked with her in my arms and the other children looking on terrified by my ex and other family members. I was charged with assault as i had no witnesses and they claimed i went in attacking them. I got a court order for interim residence and i allowed overnight contact each weekend with their father, things seemed to settle down. a few months later i discovered i was pregnant, the kids were so excited to meet their new baby sibling and were with me when i had my scan confirming it was a girl. Life was more settled. when i was 8 months pregnant my ex refused to hand the children over saying my new man had assaulted my son leaving a bruise (my son told him he fell in the playground) and i sat there an allowed this to happen, i was in complete shock asmy children loved my new man and if he had hurt them he would be fastout the door and police called. Social workers confirmed that myself or my partner did not cause bruising and there were no concerns for the children when in my care but the court gave him interim residence anyway, he is not allowing me to see kids at home, he makes me go to a centre for 6 hours per week, the kids are regularly late, dont show etc. The children have told everyone they want to come home to their mum and baby sister but he just keeps dramatising everything. He has accused me of absolutely everything from my dog barking too loud to the housing officer, benefit fraud, abuse, neglect you name it. And all of these "support" systems allow this trend to continue. The reason court cases drag on is because solicitors get paid more money the more delays and problems etc there are and often make situations way worse and hard to resolve. Children nedd both parents and should not be put through all this for point scoring. I am disgusted with my family his family, him and professionals who know what is going on but wont speak up. I will not let them win as my childrens lives depend on it. You know the systems are so wrong when a con

The problem that I found with these accusations was that it doesn't just end after the social services do their checks.

I have been assaulted whilst drinking in clubs, assaulted whilst with my daughter (when her mother actually allows me to see her, which is extremely rare), verbal abuse and physical abuse whilst shopping.

I have mentioned all of this in court and nothing happens, I have had contact orders in abundance and my ex just abuses the law, lies and gets away with it (the latest lie being that I am never in when she arrives with my daughter).

I think my main problem is;

1) A single mothers doesn't have to pay any solicitor costs whereas the father does, this allows the mother to "eke" out the process, whilst the father is charged vast amounts in court fee's and demanded to pay Child-Support for a child they are being refused access too.
As advised on various "single-mother-websites".

2) Where the process is lengthy, the mother has ample opportunity to consider various plans of attack and subsequently manifests stories to prolong any decision made by the Judge or often causing a reversion in the order

3) Due to the current economy, job's are sparse and it is the employers market. As I always keep my Saturday free (as this is the only day I have been granted by Law to see my daughter), I am unable to get a permanent position as employer's need staff to work weekends. Although I do this my ex-partner never abides by the contact order.

4) Referencing the above; I am then told that I do not support my daughter but am unable to get into a position where I can support her and if it were not for government funding most single-mothers in Britain would be unable to support their children. The accusation that I am unable to do so is a redundant point.

5) The British Court's deal with these problems on a daily basis. The amount of fathers complaining that they genuinely want to see their children but are; refused any access, made out to be paedophiles/abuser's or who are subjugated to years of depression through the hands of the legal system and their ex's is vast.

I am now representing myself in Court as I am still no better off almost two years later. My daughter is only 19months old and I know that all of these issues will be twisted and distorted by her mother, but I know I have to keep fighting.

Speaking as a man, this is one of the words things that can happen, absolute hell, as how can you prove a negative? Until the truth comes out that you're innocent (and there's no guarantee it ever will) you're in limbo, relying on the word of someone who might hate you and social workers and police who are all eager to hunt down a crime, even if it never existed. I've been lucky, it hasn't happened to me, but it did to one of my friends, and his torment lasted six months until it was decided there was no case. But he still felt tainted.

Ever since 2003 my husband has been accused of being an abusive father to his son. And now my husband is sitting in custody cuz his son has a 6-8 circular bruise on his butt cuz the state said it was from my husbands hand. When a few days prior to us takein his son back home to his moms. My husband and his son were wrestling around being kids and his son was laughing so hard from messing around with his dad. my husbands son got a bruise on his butt from fallin from laughin so hard. And like I started to say my husband been accused of being abusive and misusive since 2003 and we were livin over 500 miles from his ex girlfriend. And also his ex has 6 founded cases of child neglect and 1 founded case of physical abuse and the state let her keep all her kids because of this and they stated she was a perfect mom. And know due to my husbands son havin a bruise on his butt from fallin they r accusin my husband of child endangerment with bodily injury. O yea I live in the state of iowa.

Hi please can someone help me last october my youngest son who was 17months at the time had an accident at creche where he tore his frenum the inner part of the top lip that joins to the gum. I took him to the doctors who said the injury could not be caused by an accident and had been done intentionally. He then forwarded us to SS the office was closed so he then had to refer us to the police, I was visited by a forensic police officer and out of hours social worker who wanted to remove my children from my care until the matter was cleared up I stated this was not possible as my parents were on holiday and my youngest child would not settle anywhere else. My cousin who is ironically a social worker asked if he could stay at my home and supervise and be the carer until the following day when we would attend the hospital and be examined by a pediatrician. The following day I was visited by not 1 but 3 social workers 2 seemed non judgemental however the last to arrive was abusive towards me she stripped me of all human rights she would not allow me to speak or ask any questions, she stressed that I could not be accompanied by anyone at the hospital my childs father was present and spoke up to say he would be attending also that we both wanted my cousin to be present. On our way to the hospital the social worker was speeding at 65mph I asked her to slow down stating that I dont speed with my children in the car to which she replied that she was only doing 60mph I then replied that it was a 50mph road at this time I was worried as my partner was following in one car, my cousin and another social worker in another car. I felt scared, vunerable, distressed and intimidated by her behaviour as she had my childrens future in her hands she most certainly felt that I was guilty. On arrival at the hospital my partner rang to ask which ward I was advised to tell him F62 when we approached the ward which was infact F64 I noticed F62 was an elderly ward so I txted my partner to advise him the correct ward. The paediatrician was amazing he asked why we had been referred to hospital I explained what my dostor had said and he stated yes in children of my sons age most cases are accidental, the relief flooded from me. He then did a full examination and the case was closed. I have had meetings since with social services with regards to a complaint of my treatment from the social worker I am now taking my complaint to a second stage and have informed the manager I will go all the way. The case has now been closed by SS but I want this removing from my childrens file is this possible?

My Ex has been charged with child cruelty and appears in court in the new year. Interestingly I find that social services are bending over backwards to help her and she has weekly supervised visits (at which she has tried to influence my son when out of earchot of the social worker) in addition they've sent her on 'parenting classes. I know if the shoe was on the other foot and I was the abuser I'd not be allowed to see him.but the child care/welfare system seems built for women.Don't get me wrong, if I were the abuser I'd expect the full weight of the law and no sympathy whatsover.but then I don't believe in physically chastising children.

I know of a (female) paediatrician who's 3 year old likes to strip and run starkers round the garden even in winter...

Boys have 'bits' for a reason and it is normal for them to explore... You could try 'encouraging' clothes to cover up but it doesn't always work... Nowadays she just shrugs and laughs as he goes on a lap of the garden...

Sounds like sour grapes on the part of your ex. although social services have a duty not to view it like that... What about timelines? How long have you been split-up? Do you think this is just a reaction to you getting a non-molestation order against him?

Either way, he's not going to endear himself to anyone with comments like that the kids are dead to him... Probably he said that without thinking it through. What about - 'well if he asks to see you later, can I get in touch?'

Hi, I am currently going through hell. I have been falsely accused of smacking my daughter and now she claims I touched her. My ex claims I domestically abused her. Bristol family court appear almost completely impotent and unwilling to act in case I am lying- which I am not. I tried to kill myself last year following a non- molestation order- it was full of lies. Social services are involved and they are finally figuring out my ex is a bit of a nut case. I have alleged Parental alienation syndrome. My ex is still stopping any contact despite a court order. any tips or advice?
